Thanksgiving Week.

Monday we decided to take Jaxson to southwestway park. Coolest park I have ever been to. We took him there because we wanted him to experience swings. He loved them. It turns out that the rest of the park was made for Landon himself.

We had date night on Wednesday because landon needed to study the rest of the weekend. We got a bite to eat and then came home and watched Brave. We didn't like it. But it was good to spend time together for a couple of hours. My brother Gary drove in from Chicago and got here late Wednesday night. We watched 12 Angry Men with him and we LOVED it. Such a classic. Gary is one of the funnest people to have around.

I'm pretty sure we had the best thanksgiving dinner EVER. We ended up going to my brothers friends house, which was a little weird to me since I still don't even know there names(there were a lot of people there.) BUT the food was so good it was totally worth it. We didn't cook a thing. We didn't pay for anything. We didn't clean a thing. Which seems rude now, but she didn't let us. It was awesome. The turkeys, yes 2 turkeys were melt in your mouth turkeys. One was deep fried and one was in a brine for 24 hours. Amazing.

After dinner we took our nephews Nate and Josh for the weekend. Thursday-Sunday... we watched movies, went to monster golf, Wreck it Ralph, paper airplanes, Christmas chains, Children's museum, BYU football, Cars 2, etc. The kids went home today around 11:00. There was only one temper tantrum and 2 time outs. All in all the weekend was a success.

JAXSON
Jax had a really tough week. He is transitioning into 1 nap a day. Two is too much, but one is still too little. On top of that he is teething and that has been really painful for him. He can now say bye(bi), Mommy (mmmmommmmamma), Daddy (deede), and of course Ball. (BAALL). He is way too independent for my liking, but what can I say... he's my son. He loves to mop. He follows me everywhere. He loves his cousins. He is terrified of Vacuums and animals. All living animals. Yes even dogs.

BECCA
I had a few things that made me a bit discouraged this week. But I was able to go to the temple this week, which was amazing. I left at 5:00, Landon put Jax to bed at 6:30, and I was home by midnight. It was so rejuvenating. The drive is about 2 hours. I talked to my mom the whole way there. And on the way home I jammed out to Christmas music and Jenny Jordan Frogley. It was the best two hours of my week. Other then that, just did the normal mom stuff.

LANDON
Landon took a final on Wednesday. He is glad to have that class out of the way. He took a break on Thanksgiving and watched the BYU Soccer game Friday night and BYU football game Saturday afternoon. Other then that he stayed in his office all week studying. He has one more week of classes and then 6 tests in 10 days. This semester flew by.

MOUSE
Yep. We see him so much we feel like he is another family member. We've even seen him on the counter 3 times now. Yuck. I feel very violated about it. I have deep cleaned the kitchen all three times. Clean kitchen, but I still know that little mouse is back there behind our stove and there is nothing we can do about it. BLAH.

All and all we're great. We had a fun week and are so very grateful for so many things. This week we felt particularity grateful for the gospel, our relationship and our little Jaxson.

Friends, No Diapers & a Wedding

We had a fun week this week. We had the Naylors over for pasta, the Bakers over for Empanadas, and the Daetwylers and the Naylors over for Pizza. When the bakers were over, Jaxson and their little boy looked identical. It was hilarious. Oh and I made a pretty awesome Shrimp Dish this week.

On Tuesday Jax and I went to Heather Hess's for Craft morning. I successfully ate half of Adrianas yummy humus while watching everyone else make cute headbands for their little girls. Wednesday was our Wards Chili Cook Off. I don't know who won because we left early, but shout out to the Toblers Chili, I had 3 bowls! Thursday was the Relief Society Activity. We wrapped presents for the 4 missionaries serving from our ward and 2 missionaries that we adopted. I love our ward!

Friday I felt inspired by my friend Danielle who always has the yummiest baked goods. So I made Danielle's Banana Bread. It said to cook it for 1 hour at 350F. I cooked for 35 minutes at 300F and it was still burnt. So... I called maintenance and they came over with a thermometer. Yep. They turned it to 200F waited for 30 minutes, came back, and it was reading at 295F. No wonder none of my baking has worked out here. Glad to get that fixed.

We have a mouse. Just a mouse that feels like our abode is his abode. One day he is going to be really sorry he feels that way.

JAXSON
Jax LOVES reading books now and he LOVES reading books on the bed or couch. He will grab a book, put it on the bed and then bang on the bed til we put him on it. He has 3 teeth now with a fourth just pushing through. He is throwing a few more hilarious temper tantrums. We love him and he and Landon and the gospel bring so much purpose and light to my life every. single. day.

BECCA
Friday night, I tucked my sweet baby jax into bed, kissed my husband goodbye and Maddie took me to the airport. I flew to LA to go to my best friends wedding. I slept in Cami's kitchen and by the time I actually went to bed it was 5:30am Indiana time. Saturday was beautiful. Cami looked GORGEOUS!!!! The sealing was incredible. I got to spend the hours from 11:30-3:30 with just Cami, Devan (Groom) and the photographers. And yes us three, during our lunch break from pictures, went to Pei Wei.

I helped Cami with her dress, flowers, held phones and water. I am so happy for her and feel so blessed that Moji (Cam's mom) paid for my flight. It was a beautiful day and I'm so thankful to Maddie, Michael and Landon who successfully took care of Jaxson for two days. I heard reports that he was happy the whole time. WHAT!!?? Why? The child should have been devastated. I mean i've been with the boy almost every sinlge hour of every single day for the last 13 months and he doesn't even blink an eye when i'm gone. Whatever. I don't care... :(...... :). I only teared up once because I missed Jax so much, but other then that, it was a busy 44 hour trip. Oh and I guess I missed Landon too :).

LANDON
Landon studied a lot this week. Surprise surprise. His wallet was found on the side of the freeway. Apparently said robber didn't think we had enough money to carry around a huge wallet. His breaks this week were filled with dinner with our friends and... surprisingly... BYU Girls Soccer. He's gotten so into it. Its cute. He shaved his mustache after I threatened to not shave my legs :). And he had a blast watching Jax Saturday night and today. I have the best husband.
And thats that! Thanksgiving is by FAR my favorite holiday. I feel like it is truly the one holiday that hasn't quite been bombarded with Halmark, Walmart, and Kmart. (Had to stick with the Mart theme.)

See you next week. Same time. Same place. Same life.

Happy Sunday & Thanksgiving.
