It's Taking Too Long!!! ;)

What a week, what a day. For those people who consistently do Sunday all by themselves, my hat goes off to you. Landon was gone at 6:30am and he just walked in the door (8:05pm, which was actually an hour and half earlier than he was told. He just got lucky:)!!) But today was loooonnng without Landon.

Landon

Has one more week of internal medicine. Yay!! And he just finished his last Sunday shift for probably a while (hopefully). He gave someone a Book of Mormon today. He was trying so hard to make today feel like sunday. But you just can't do that without the sacrament. Oh how I love the sacrament. He is the best husband and daddy. He had three days off this rotation and one of those three days is Sunday March 1st. So really two in February. But yesterday instead of studying we went and cleaned the church, then we went to the temple and Landon played with JAX while I did sealings. Then we got home Landon let me read my journals to him of when we first started dating for a couple of hours. He just listened and laughed (and eventually fell asleep haha :)!) it was the best day ever!!! Oh he also got his professional doctor pictures back. He's so handsome!! And the photographer was nice enough to take a few family shots. Medical school is a family affair:).

Becs

I've been sick all week! I'm just grateful I'm not sick. I'm also grateful for friends and family who make me want to be better!!! A friend had us over for dinner tonight and it was so nice of her to have us. Her husband played with jax while me and her talked and I just thought, man!! I have such good examples around me. I'm so blessed.

Jax
Is loving coloring and tracing right now. I think he's getting better and better. I'm proud of him. Really I am. He is learning so much in sunbeams and I'm so grateful to his teacher and to the church for setting up a way to teach our children about the restored gospel. Obviously we do it in our home too, but he's learning from his peers and other adults too and it's amazing. Ps he loves his daddy so much. He loves playing with him and he loves his stories (about Captain Hook always). They are best best buds.

Baby Brother

Seems to be doing great. His kicks are so defined now. He's moving a ton. I do think he grew a pound OVERNIGHT!!! I shot out this week and I feel pregnant for the first time in this pregnancy. I'm a little worried because baby has already stated making me extremely sore in places I didn't get sore at until 36 weeks. Oh man!! Hopefully if I keep exercising it will all be okay. Baby brother kicked jax today and jax got excited then said, "mommy!! Baby brother is taking too long!!!" Bahaha  if he only knew. If he only knew.

We are done with sickness and ready to be normal again. Though it's freezing outside sooo we may not do a ton of things. But hey, at least we can have play dates now :). Good week!!!

Happy Birthday Landon

Lando

Turned 28 this week!!! Yay. He got a really neat set of utensils from Korea(his dad's mission), a Wolf decoration, an Amazon card, money, an apron with all his missionaries tie, and jax gave him his Woody Doll... to share, of course. It was a good birthday.

He finished his 14 day shift at the hospital and we spent all last night on a date and cuddled this morning in bed which was awesome.

He's been sick all week. Two different kinds of sick too. Hopefully he gets better soon.

Becs

I babysat a few friends this week and made landons birthday present. I also spent three nights wide awake, for no reason. I've heard of pregnancy insomnia, but never experienced it. Maybe it's just because I've been sick too? Who knows. The long nights have made for slow mornings, but that's okay, I've slept well the last two nights so I think it's behind me :)!!

Jax
Has loved loved love playing with all his friends. He was even able to go to a Valentine's party and had a blast. It's so fun that he's at a point where I know longer have to watch him or entertain him(when he has friends). He just goes off, upstairs and spends three hours playing not needing me at all. Sad but happy!!! He's growing up. Last night he was laying straight on his crib matress and there were only a few inches left. He really needs a real twin mattress. Hopefully we can find a good price on one soon :)!!!!

Baby Brother:
Is heading into the third trimester!!! 27 weeks, 7 months, WHAT??? When did all of this happen. We can't wait to hold and cuddle and love him. Jax has already told me that baby brother can share his favorite blue blanket with him. Brotherly love!!

Oh, the Places You'll Go!!

We had a great week! It was really easy to get back into the swing of things because we all felt well rested and we all knew it was time. Plus there is something about knowing there will be a perfect baby brother in our home in less than 15 weeks that makes everything better.

JAX:

Has really learned to color. He still struggles staying in the lines, but he loves to look at an already colored picture and copy it. He does an excellent job. He also is learning how to write his name and does well with “J” and “A”, but those diagonal lines in the “X” “make me soo so sooooo frustrated” as he would say. He got to play with so many friends with week that he missed so much and is already looking forward to next weeks play dates. We got him a clock for Christmas that turns green when its okay for him to wake up. He is a champ at it!!! This morning I even moved it up to 8:00am so that I could sleep in a little. He woke up at 6:00am when Landon left for work, but he still stayed in his room til 8:00am. He is amazing. (He did sleep some during those two hours ps)

BECS

I’ve been enjoying getting back into a routine. I’m trying to add one whole hour of uninterrupted play with Jax without my phone even to take pictures. We’ve been setting the timer and then going into the play closest and its amazing how fast time flies in there with Jax and all his happiness. I’ve indexed a few batches this week too and its really brought so much more peace and motivation into my life. I’m finally up to date on all of my sweet young womens lives. I love them and I love being with, learning from, and growing with them. They are pretty amazing Daughters of God. I’ve also been studying the Plan of Salvation this week and its really hit home. Every question or struggle, trial or heartache can really be answered if we have an understanding of Heavenly Fathers plan. Its been incredibly comforting and happy to learn more about it this week. Also, just a good accomplishment for me. I’ve exercised 5 days a week since the doctor cleared me for exercise at 12 weeks. I’m determined to not gain more then the recommended weight gain this time around. And with the exercising and the billions of salads I’ve had over hamburgers (BOO!!)… I’m still on tract to meet my goal.

LANDO

Is on Internal Medicine. He is in the middle of his 14 day shift. He worked yesterday, Saturday, from 7:00am-9:53pm and then we picked him up and he came up, went straight to bed so that he could wake up at 5:30am to get to the hospital by 6:30. He only works today til 5:00, but he misses church & just Sunday and that breaks his heart so much. Church, his calling, and of course his little family bring him so much happiness, fulfillment and rejuvenation, it really kills him to miss those things. One funny story is yesterday the Attending Physician told the whole team he’d buy them dinner. Landon was so excited because he wasn’t going to have to eat the copy-cat lunch I made him ;). But…the whole team settled on Indian Food (and Landon hates Indian food), but he couldn’t object to that. (I mean these people are reviewing him at the end of the day… and what would they think of him if he didn’t like Indiana food… haha!) So he just was silent. It was also funny that he got put in charge of making the order. I can only imagine Landon reading off 14 different orders or random dishes he has never heard of to a guy that barely speaks any English. Hilarious. In the end they did a buffet style and Landon tried three dishes and didn’t hate it, in fact he said he ate a lot. This is good, maybe one day he will actually take me to an Indian Restaurant. One day.

BABY BROTHER

Almost 26 weeks!!! We had an appointment monday and everything looks good. (I even got to talk to the Nurse about what Garments were and give her a card to the upcoming Indianapolis Temple). He is kicking lots, making me sore and a little more tired than usual and already bring so much pure joy into our home. Jax saw and felt him kick this morning. He was seriously so giddy. He kept jumping up and down, “I so excited! I so excited for him to come out!!! I so so excited. Mommy lets read him a story.” Jax ran and picked out “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!!” and we read it to baby brother. I couldn’t help but think of Landon while I read it. This choosing a career thing as been awful awful awful and hard. It breaks my heart that I know he’s not happy at work. (He doesn’t complain and he totally acts happy. But I KNOW he isn’t happy, and I know it kills him to be at a place he so dislikes over being at home with his little boy.) But the last page really summed out how I feel about this whole awful and lousy career-picking thing:

“You’ll get mixed up, of course,
as you already know.
you’ll get mixed up
with many strange birds as you go.
So be sure when you step,
step with care and great tact
and remember that Life’s
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.

AND will you succeed?
YES! You will, indeed!
(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.)
KID, YOU’LL MOVE MOUNTAINS!!

So…
be your name Buxbaum or Bixby or Bray
or Mordecai Ali Ven Aleen O’Shea
you’re off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting.
So… get on your way!!

We love you Landon/Daddy!!! We will see you after church. YOU are OUR hero!!!!!
