FOCUS

I think my favorite thing about writing a blog post every week is the reflection on the week it allows. Sometimes when I am having a low moment, the good moments are harder to remember. Right now isn't really a low moment, however Landon is at work today and none of us like it when he works on Sunday. As I uploaded pictures, I was a little embarrassed at how many good moments I had already forgotten from only a few days back. So today, to make up for my lack of gratitude, I'm just going to FOCUS on those happy moments we had this week.

It started with Landon getting Presidents Day off. I wasn't expecting that at all!! Its true, if you never have any expectations, you'll never be disappointed!
  • "I pay tribute to Sister Nelson, this magnificent wife and mother who has always been supportive. When people have asked her how she managed with 10 children with so little time available from her husband, she has responded with a twinkle in her eye, saying, “When I married him, I didn’t expect much, so I was never disappointed.” -Pres. Nelson

Landon got 8 miles in and I got 3 miles in Monday morning. In the snow. Which is one of my favorite times to go RUNNING.

Gary Comes to Town

Landon:
He finished his OB rotation. Sad. He loved it(so did I) and it  as a nice break from the Main OR. Though he loves that too, it’s just busier. He has two more months of main OR and then baby time! He took his yearly ITE exam Saturday morning. Said he failed, but he always says that. He’s the best test taker I know, it’s obnoxious. He has started frequently checking out my veins whenever he gets the chance. At church today while holding hands I caught him eyeing and stroking my veins. And then in primary he was looking at my ankle and noticed another vein he really liked. Apparently I have really good veins that stick out a lot. It’s true. Drawing blood has always been easy for me.

Becca:
I only got 3 miles of running in this week. Which I was bummed about. It was colder outside which made things harder. And Landon’s research month was pushed back and that kind of threw me off. But after a few days, I’ve readjusted to the new schedule. I also spent a lot of time with my brother Gary who flew into town. Gary is the best and when he’s around everyone wants to be together. In fact we often fight over who gets time with him;). It was fun to be with him! He’s interviewing for sports fellowship right now and finishing up ortho residency in Chicago with his cute wife, Jacqueline, who is a primary physician! Honestly Gary has changed the course of each one of his siblings lives, all for the better of course :). I can't wait to name this little baby in my tummy after him! Also, I had the worst morning on Valentine’s Day. I was just a pill to everyone. But Ty and I went on a 2 mile walk and then 2 mile run and then I felt better and got ready for a cute Valentine’s Day dinner with the boys. Hopefully they forgot how I acted in the morning, all of them ;). Landon got me a cafe rio gift card!!! He knows and loves me so much.

Jax:
He is almost through the first grade levels on the iPad at school. It’s essentially old school workbooks but now technology is involved with everything, which I think is a good thing in so many ways. He scored 6 in his basketball game. He is loving basketball. He gave an awesome talk in primary about how doing hard things is good and it can make us happy. He and Ty cleaned the entire house after church today. I felt rejuvenated because of their sweet happy service. We have such good boys. Oh and slime. I made the boys slime a few times this week and they loved it.

Ty:
He loves nursery so much. He has also picked up so many more words and he talks so fast and so much. Which makes understanding him harder again but he’ll catch up soon. He loves all big machines and on all our walks that’s basically what we talk about. We’ve started to play eye spy on our walks too. Sometimes he spy’s things that he wants to appear and not that he sees, which can be a problem. We’ve spent time looking for many ambulances and fire trucks and police cars because ty “spied” them. He cried so much this week. He can be so hard. I'm glad he still has two more months of growing before we add boy #3 to the mix.

Baby brother:
He’s still in me. 9 more weeks!!! He moves soooooo much and we can’t wait to get him out of me :).

We are currently driving to antelope island. It’s snowing outside. Ty’s asleep. Jax is reading. Some Sundays feel soooo happy and rejuvenating.

Update: We are home now and watching Pirates of the Caribbean. Jack Sparro and Will turner are sword fighting. Jax is curled up in the fetal position with his hands covering his eyes and ears as best as possible. Ty is laughing really hard :). Everyone comes with their own little personalities don't they.

Brothers are the besssst!!! You better believe we both took a screen shot of this.

Ty saw these and wouldn't touch another shoe afterwards. Happy V-day ty ty.

Pear Proscuitto Feta Pizza aka: AMAZING!!!

I took this picture to remind myself that getting outside is the best solution when things aren't going well.

Ty screamed/cried for at least 90 this morning, and then he fell asleep for the first time in a year in on our run.

#momwin. Jax was so excited about his Slime Party at school. But it was cancelled last minute and he was heart broken. So when I picked him up and he expressed that to me, we went to the store and got all the ingredients for slime. It turned out sooo well actually!!! They've loved it!

I love my parents more and more every single day!

Sometimes, when you don't have school, cereal and netflix is how to start your mornings!

CHIP COOKIES!!!! Also, proof we needed 12 cookies instead of 8. Hehe love you Nate ;).
