I went to Utah this week to take my dad to the Nutcracker. That makes 28 of the last 29 years.
Wednesday:
Flew in, surprised my pops, went to Block with my parents and Gary, drove around with Gary
Thursday:
Helped my mom do some Christmas shopping, picked up Levi to watch him for Scott and Jen, Took Sarah & Nate Lunch to visit with them, dropped Levi off, my parents, brigs, and I all had a nap. Then Dinner with my parents and then took my dad to the Nutcracker.
Friday:
Went shopping for ginger bread houses. Picked Levi up. Prepped for a little Christmas party with my nieces and nephews. Had the party. Went and saw Nate and Sarah's new property, dropped Levi off, talked with Scotty and Jen, went home and watched Hitch with my parents and Gary.
Saturday:
Got to the airport 2 hours early to try to get on the 11am flight because I accidentally booked the 11pm flight. Stood in line for 2 hours because the Saturday before Christmas is insane. Made it to the gate just in time. They waited for 40 minutes for another flight connection, and in the end, the flight was full and Biggy & I couldn't get on. So we drove back to my moms house. Watched BYU lose. Helped my mom find an outfit for her song in church. Then headed back to the airport. Brigs ended up throwing up 4 times on the plane. So much throw up. Some in cups, some in bags, some all over me, him and his blankets. While Biggy was throwing up on the plane. Luke and Ty were throwing up at home. Landon picked me up at the airport at 1am with the boys in the car, garbage cans in hand.
Sunday:
We watched Christmas movies all day, Landon spoke in church.
The boys had fun without me. It was so fun to be able to just go and know that Landon was the person with the boys and not someone else. I LOVED that. And look forward to many many more little visits to my family just like that.
The other highlight of the week was our Secret Santa. We were able to get a nativity set with 12 presents and then a bunch of other toys and clothes and food and money. It was such a highlight to doorbell ditch their little apartment with the boys. We have been the recipient of that great kindness and I can't wait to always pay it forward.
