I Saw Christ, 2022

This week we spent potty training. Which doesn’t feel very Christmasy. On Tuesday I was feeling pretty beat down. On Wednesday I thought about all the ways I had been helped in the last three days. Then I had the idea to write down every way I saw Christ this week.

1: I saw Christ when Alyssa Jaderholm you came over and just washed my dishes

2: I saw Christ when Kyla Fague took my boys for 4 hours on Wednesday at the peak of the potty training exhaustion. I showered, did laundry, cleaned bathrooms, wrapped presents, even watched Gilmore Girls

3: I saw Christ when Mama Woolf sent me a podcast that I listened to and felt very personal to my own precious circumstances (which is why she sent that). I then finished the Old Testament

4: I saw Christ through Landons patience

5: I saw Christ when my boys did secret Santa each night

6: I saw Christ when Shauna called and told me of a family that needed help (a three year old boy and 6 month old baby)….

less than an hour later, Destiny called and asked if I knew anyone that needed clothes or toys (SHE HAS A 4 year old boy and 2 year old twins. Like WHAT?)

7: I saw Christ through Jaxsons basketball coach. He volunteers so much of his time to do something for Jaxson that Landon and I can’t.

8: I saw Christ in myself when I choose to sit next to a man at Costco with my boys, we were picking up dinners for households in our ward, I tried just intentionally try to lift his spirits.

9: I saw Christ in all the intentional neighbor gifts. The homemade cookies & bread, and Christmas ornaments.

10: I felt Christ in my own capabilities. The boys and I were able to door bell ditch 8 different times with a gift to each home, provide dinner to 5 different families, and answer lots of phone calls and worries from members of my relief society. I don’t feel like all of this was my own capabilities. And I’m not saying I’m capable. But I just know Christ was giving me more strength than I actually have

11: I think I’ll always see Christ in my kids friends. How did we end up here with perfect friends for my kids

12: I saw Christ at the Fague’s worship service at Hamblen Presbyterian. We loved going to their services, and lighting the candles.

13: I felt Christ when I watched Jax prepared his talk and then read it to me for the first time

14: I swear brigs being potty trained in 36 hours had something to do with Jesus, but I’ll just leave it at that.

15: I felt Christ in church today. Mostly after. When everyone was mingling and chatting. It felt holy

16: I saw Christ in the blue ski's, which don't happen often here in the winter

17: I saw Christ in Aleta's Christmas village.

Christmas Day is so special. It marks time. It reminds me how many wonderful Christmas days we have had, and how many more we have left.

I finished the Old Testament and I can honestly say I know God more. I’m really hopeful as I start the New Testament this year, I will be able to say next Christmas, that I know Jesus more and believe that he’s my Savior.

Merry Christmas!!
