Fall Sports

Lando:
Work has been stressful lately. Thats not my favorite. Or his. We went on a date with the Marcusens on Friday and that was really great. We also played kick the can and capture the flag with the Picketts on Saturday. And BYU lost. And he lost in Skull King Saturday night. Just normal updates I guess.

Becca:
I do love having my kids so involved. And sometimes it makes me really exhausted. Coaching soccer is both an aggravating and fulfilling process. Same with parenting. Same with all the things I do, even sleep. Sometimes my mind just won't turn off. And sometimes it does.

Jaxson:
He wasn't able to run in his first meet this week because his leg hurt. But then he said a prayer that Paul Ramos would know how to fix him, and a few days later, he's intercepting the ball 4 times, two back to back pick 6s. That was a sweet. experience to watch him rely on his prayers.

Ty:
He ran a 7:01 mile. He was 3rd in the whole school. Last year he didn't even qualify for all-city. And it was devastating to him. But the next morning he woke up and ran on the treadmill. And the last year he has been building up mileage. And now he is absolutely the kid that can run the longest in his school without giving up. He also scored another hat trick in his game.

Luke:
He is doing so well at school. His teacher sent me a little note that he is always on task and such a leader for his class. That just doesn't surprise me at all. He is loving being bigger like his brothers. Doing cross country and soccer and biking to school and packing his lunch on his own. All the things. He hates dinner. Literally every single night he's an emotional train wreck because of the dinner I made. But then he eats it after a big to do, and doesn't even seem like he hates it.

Brigs:
He has been sick this week. We took him into speech. He can't say his /c/ or /g/. Well he can say /C/ar really well. But then every other /c/ word is a /t/. /T/at, Tru/t/,  "/T/andy at Nanni'es".
He is really enjoyable on his own for the most part. The other morning he insisted on combining Captn Crunch and Oops all Berries. And it just made me laugh because Captn Chrunch with Berries was sitting right there. Cute little mind was on to something brilliant.

Scuba Weekend

It’s 7:33 and I’m in bed, in my dress trying not to fall asleep. So many good things. So tired.

Landon really wanted us to be scuba certified. So we spent the last two weekends doing that(among everything else). He woke up yesterday at 5:30am. We drove to scuba, dove for 2 hours, drove home. Split up to multiple games. Jones spent the night and hung out. Made dinner for the BYU game. Watched the game. 25 people were over at one point. It was happy and crazy. Then he went to work. Worked all night long. (Maybe slept and hour). I picked him up at 6;00am for scuba. Dove for another hour. He got called back in. Then showed up at church. Then went and slept for two hours. Then the Stenlunds and now he’s at a priesthood meeting with Jaxson.

Becca

I just am grateful for all the opportunities I am getting to love and be loved and grow and struggle. I’ve been reading a new book by Jody Moore, Better Than Happy. It’s really good. I had friends step in all week. Summer helped at practice. Katalyn calmed me down. Alyssa brought Jax over. Lindi let me love her. Annie filled my heart with hope and joy. Katelyn built me up. Jordyn gives the best hugs. Kim listens. Kyla runs with me. I could go on and on. Jill shares my load of taking boys to and from things. Leah does her part to maintain the relationship. Lacey has time for me. Annie loves my boys so much. My mom answers. Gosh I’ll stop. And then there is Landon who loves me deeply. And my boys who teach me and forgive me. And my calling which gives me so many opportunities to feel Gods love. And my family who I miss but am excited to see in a coiled of weeks. I don’t even know what I’m saying. But typical fashion, my life updates are always the people around me. Maddie. Who lives my life in Colorado. Okay. I’m moving on. This made no sense.

Jax is so busy. He doesn’t get him til 5:30 every night but then has basketball 2 nights a week and football one. But it’s time. It’s time for him to start spreading his wings. I love when he can be around. He got a 6:01 in the mile.

Ty has stepped it up. I’ve needed to lean on him like I do Jax this last week and he has risen to the responsibility. He’s such a good kid and I love him being my go to guy now. He scored 3 goals in his first game and is the reason we tied it 5-5. He’s also been taking first in the cross country runs in the whole school!

Luke is loving preschool and he is overstimulated. But I know how to parent these cute kids who are drained once they get home from school now. Or at least I’m more patient with the meltdowns. I know where they are coming from. But he’s doing so great!! He was the cutest little cross country runner. Walked and chatted, walked and chatted.

Brigham is so easy to hVe around alone. I miss him so much more now than I did this summer. Becusse he’s just fun and cute mostly.

Gosh I have good kids. I’m going to bed. Bye. oh the byu game was epic!!!

First Week of School 2023

Lando: He was off on Monday and while I was at the grocery store, he had 20 boys over playing. Which isn’t unusual, it’s just normally me here. Anyway he made four boxes of Mac and Cheese and 40 nuggets. A snag though, once the noddles were cooked realized he didn’t have any milk or butter (I got those at the store)… anyway I think he googled substitutes and cream cheese was the option. So cream cheese and water. It was devoured. After I got home, he then proceeded to put our, grapes, a veggie tray, oranges and 80 bagel bites… all devoured. Like the animal and the birds in Croods.

Others updates: Loved scuba class and pool dive. Works really hard at work and then at home with his scheduling responsibilities. He’s really becoming a key player of his group. Rucking. Running. Lifting. Reading. Studying. Teaching. Cuddling. Dating. Shooting. Cheering. Ya know, just average dad/hubby stuff.

Becca: I had all these plans this week to deep clean the house and do some other projects. But with Luke only going twice(staggered start), and brigs still home, and feeling exhausted from finishing the marathon we call summer…. I just sat/napped in bed during brigs nap time. School will be a different busy. I have 12 practices a week. 5 games/meets a week. 3 piano lessons. 2 youth nights. It makes for pretty busy before and after school life. That and trying to find a time where we can have family dinner and read the scriptures. Exercise and do my calling. Coaching soccer and teaching reading, oh and teaching piano, cooking, praying, faith, hope, charity, kindness, forgiveness, goal setting, Jesus, scheduling, Cover your Assets, talking to people, cleanliness…. To name a few….. Life man.

Jaxson: On the last day of summer Jax invited everyone he knew to have one last summer bash of kick the can, capture the flag, and more. He is becoming quite the leader of this neighborhood.

Other updates: he loved his first week of middle school! He’s been waking up early to run. He is so responsible and capable. Football practice. Cross country. Basketball. New school.

Ty: I was really impressed with Ty this week, as he takes on the burden of older brother and getting Luke to school. I watched him bike slow and teach Luke some of the rules. All while his friends went far ahead of him. My competitive little boy is turning into a mature young man.

Other updates: He started soccer and became big brother at the elementary school. He is currently laying on the ground cause he thinks he broke his shoulder. I guess we will see.

Luke: Luke told me on his second day of school that I didn’t need to bike with him because he already knows everything. Luke’s independence is SUCH a joy to me. He figures things out that sometimes his older brothers still ask me how to do.

Update: loved school and people.

Brigs: On the first day of school Brigs noticed around 12:00 that his brothers were gone and they weren’t coming back. So he got his backpack, helmet and bike and figured, if they can be here, he’d join them. He only made it to the top of our street before he gave up and got in the carrier with me. We then played “Which Way” where at ever every crossroads I ask him which way to go. We ended up at a pond with a fake alligator and swans and real ducks. He was thrilled

Update: he’s getting better at not peeing in his pants
