Brother and Mother/Son Week

This week was really fun! Landon and his Brother took off and went to Chicago & Nauvoo while Jax and I stayed home and had a much needed mother/son time.

We went to Costco, Gymnastics Unlimited, the park for Summer Servings, Chick fil a for cow appreciation day (we dressed up like cows and got a free meal). We froze our fruit so it wouldn't go bad (trying to be like Ami one day at a time), Got a little kids table and painted the wall behind it, and we got ready for Logan to come spend a couple of days with us in Indiana. I also went to Young Womens and we played water pool/slide baseball. It was fun

Landon picked Logan up in Chicago and then went and got deep dish pizza with my brother Gary. Then they went and toured the Handcock tower. The next day the went to Nauvoo and did a couple of days of Nauvoo things. I know they had some pretty good food and a really great time. Seeing as how they got home Sunday morning at 12:15am and told me all about the trip for the next 45 minutes :).

I'm glad they got some time together before Logan heads off to Santa Cruz Bolivia for two years to serve an LDS mission. He is going to teach the people in Bolivia about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. It is completely voluntary and we are so proud of what he is doing to help God's children.

This week I taught about taking the Lords name upon you. I know a lot of people don't think that Mormons are Christians, but honestly, that is all we are ever trying to be. When we get baptized we covenant with God that we will take Christ's name upon us. In essence we try our hardest to do the things He would day in and day out. What is more Christian than that?

I'm so grateful for the gospel and the purpose it gives me in my life. I'm also grateful for the fun week Jax and I had and the fun time Landon had with his brother.

Landon & Logans Trip:

A Week With Friends!

We had a pretty awesome week! We did SO much and had so much fun hanging out with our friends.
Monday:
Some girls and I started Insanity together. Oh. My. Goodness. We also were able to have the Hess's and the Pulham's over for dinner and then we hung out with the Haslam's that night.
Tuesday:
Landon was able to volunteer at the Bishop Storehouse with some of his friends and I hung out with the Hobsons. Rachel Pierini made us dinner and brought it to our house with the missionaries. Oh my DELICIOUS!! We added some ice cream to the mix. Then I headed to a girls night at the Cheesecake factory.
Wednesday:
We hung out with the Baker kids while the parents were packing up their home :(. Then I spent my first night with just Landon since before girls camp! I was sick. Whatever.
Thursday:
4th of JULY breakfast with our church family. Then a quick nap. Then we headed to the Hay's for a incredible feast. Seriously. I had so many appetizers/sides, I didn't have room for the meat. Don't judge me, but we came home put Jax to bed and didn't see one firework. Happy fourth :).
Friday:
Hmmm... I don't remember.
Saturday:
I spent all day cleaning which was so nice, then Landon and I went to the taste of Indianapolis. We had some pretty great Mexican and Jamaican food.
Sunday:
I was able to teach the Young Women about Ordinances and Covenants. I think it went okay. I have a testimony of both sacred ordinances and the covenants we make with our Heavenly Father. We need both to return to Him one day. Landon made homemade cheesecake for the first time during Jax's nap. Then we had the Hirschi's and the Hubbards over for dinner, then went on a short walk around Manchester. Its fun talking to all our neighbors.

Just a few updates on Jax. He is loving all pillows and blankets. Multiple on top of him. He also loves jumping off of the couch and the curb. He loves to mimic his dad. He is doing GREAT in nursery. He is awesome.
