The Human Cylce

I feel like every week I go through the same cycle (I call it the human cycle), I have good moments and then bad moments. And then every week I write about the same thing at the end. My blessings. But I just have so much to be grateful for and Im so happy about the things going on in our little life, our little home here on Londonderry. The Lord has been so so so good to us. And I sincerely, at this moment, feel Gods love for me and for my family and I have so much gratitude for His goodness.

LANDON:
He actually had a more chill week this week. He was done most nights by 8:30-9:00 and we even hung out from 2:30 on... on Saturday. It was seriously the best. He is studying hard for Boards (School Qualifier Test) every day. About 4 hours a day. He went and played basketball again for the first time since his sprained ankle. He is my best friend and I Love him!! And the best dad. Oh and did I mention how he surprised me with flowers this week. It was so cute.

JAXSON:
He is learning 2-3 words a day. I think he is probably a little bit behind in his speech and that is probably my fault. I don't intentionally teach him. Part of me just wants him to enjoy learning what he wants to learn about right now. But the other part of me feels like I should be more intentional and he should be able to say his ABCs and count form 1-.... 100 and sing a song or two?? Anyway. The things I love about Jax is that he gets so happy about so many things. He loves being outside. He likes to be in small places. He never walks anywhere, he runs. He has such a sweet tender side to him. He loves playing with his friends. He is currently in love with super heroes. (I hate super heros!!)

BECCA:
I have really enjoyed the weather this week. Its been amazing. I worked on a flyer for our family reunion in May that we are in charge of this year and I did some things for Girls Camp this week too. I'm excited! We went on one of the best dates of our married life, I loved it. We watched Saving Mr. Banks on top of Landon's parking garage with the view of Indianapolis. It was awesome!!

SCOTTY:
Was offered a third interview for a job. YAY. Watched Jax while we went on our rocking date. Applied to a few more jobs. Went to his YSA Branch. We've had fun having out here with us ;). Oh and Jax loves "Unle Dotty"

Life. Is. Good.

Gratitude: A Way of Life

This week was a little bit of a blur. We got back to Indy early Tuesday morning (2:00am) and then preceded to sleep in until 11:00am. Awesome!

It took us a couple of days to get back into the swing of things. Just in time for my little brother to move out here to Indy! Yay ;). Nine of the sixteen members of the Edwards clan lives in Indy. Crazy. And eleven live in the Midwest.

I finished my 23rd journal! I'm excited about my new one too. The title, "give thanks in everything" goes right along with my favorite talk from general conference. President Utchdorf gave a great talk on gratitude. "Seek Gratitude in your circumstances." I loved how he talked about gratitude being more than a list of things but a way of life!

On that note, what I'm fundamentally grateful for is the gospel, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I am grateful that I have a Savior who died for me, for my sins, for my heart aches, for my weaknesses. He has made my life worth living. Because of Him I can return to live forever with my Heavenly Father, who loves me and I love Him! No matter what happens in this life, no matter the struggles, trials, hardships, and even joys... The only constant, the only thing that will never change is the knowledge that I know that I am loved by God and my Savior and that through the atonement I can live with them again. That knowledge should be enough to live with gratitude no matter the circumstances. I can do a lot better with this principle! I'm excited to try harder and do better!

Landon has a test tomorrow! And we have 60 days til he takes the biggest one of his life :/!!!! Eeeeeek!! Exciting stuff coming up around here, exciting stuff :). Life is good!

Daddy taught him how to roll

Elder Powers knew how much Jaxson wanted this little basket ;)

My friend gave me this waffle iron! I was so excited to use it for our semi-annual General Conference Waffle Party!:)
