I Love Landon

My handsome guy heading off to his first day of MS1 Semester 2.

We had a pretty calm week. Highlights were Damond Farar's Memorial Service on Wednesday, an almost midnight walk around our neighborhood on Saturday and dinner with the Daetwylers today. (Thanks again Maddie & Michael).

Other than that, i'm ready for a new week :).

LANDON
Studied a lot this week. I had forgotten how much he actually studies after I spent basically every waking moment with him the last 3 weeks. I'll tell you one thing for sure, he totally missed me ;)!
Other than studying, he went to Young Men's on Thursday, got sprite for me at midnight on Friday, and played ward basketball on Saturday. Now he is visiting with the a family in the ward!

BECCA
I made a to-do list monday morning, did a few things that day and then was sick most of the week.
It started off with a sore throat on Monday night and ended up with throwing up early early Saturday morning. I think Jax and I watched enough of t.v. (this and this) for the year 2013 this week. I'm not joking though. The t.v. was on more this week than it has been on in Jaxson's entire life combined. Oh well... I had an excuse right :)?
Landon came home early Friday night to take care of me. Took care of Jax, put him to sleep, brought me chicken noodle soup, cleaned up, gave me a priesthood blessing, scratched my back while I threw up, let me sleep in Saturday morning and by the time I was up he was exhausted (see picture with Jaxson in just a diaper). I so love Landon!
Now i'm watching Elder Utchdorf's CES Fireside and celebrating that my sickness is over!HURRAY!

JAXSON
Is sitting on our lap more. Whined a little more than normal. Which could be attributed to boredom, neglect, missing daddy, or sick?? But as always, he's just our favorite little person ever. BIG NEWS!!! We got him a basketball hoop and BETTER NEWS he loves it. He likes making messes, he loves mimicking me. Loves Diane. Loves being around books and pretending like he's reading. Love our bed! Loves the window ledge in our bedroom. Loves anything round. Loves our chalkboard. Loves his daddy!

He also is starting to have a legit run. Which makes for some really sad/funny face plants. I'm starting to understand more of what he is saying, which is crazy. We love him!

CLOTH DIAPERS
So its been 6 months now. And here is my official verdict. There is no such thing as loving diapers. BUT since i'm an absolutist and I only use love and hate.... I love cloth diapers. I'm used to them now. I'm saving money. They are so much cuter. I'm being eco-friendly. Its a totally worth the little extra work. It took some time getting use to them. And its a $400 up front investment, but I think we've now broken even. We haven't purchased diapers since July and won't need to for quite some time! Yep thats right, I don't think i'll go back for at least four years. If you want more info, email, text, or talk to me about it ;).
(P.S. We even did cloth diapers in AZ & UT and it worked wonderfully).

This week: To-Dos, Temple, Basketball, and... Date Night!

What I get to see every. single. day!!!
Cutest boys ever!!!

2998 Piece Puzzle

The only productive thing we did this week was build a 3000 piece puzzle (actually 2998 piece puzzle since we lost 2 pieces during its move from AZ to IN). Is that productive? No... but i'm not joking. I have half a gallon of 13 day old milk STILL in the fridge, Christmas decorations still up, and no clean cloth diapers to prove it :).

We did have a good week though. We went to Costco and had lunch there. We celebrated New Years Eve at the Wilsons and New Years Day at the Naylors. We had pazooki/puzzle night with the Daetwylers... but it was cut a little too short... blasted food poisoning. Not on our end. We need a re-due okay? :).

Other then that, we watched some t.v. played with Jaxson, cleaned the house barely, ran a few errands and stopped at the mall park, and finished our break with cookies and a finished puzzle.

The bread dough is now rising and will be the start of our second semester of mec school tomorrow. We're looking forward to another fun semester and we just feel so incredibly blessed to be a family.

JAX
Folds his arms and bows his head when any food is placed in front of him or put in the microwave or we go into his room right before bed time. SO adorable. He loves to dance and gets so excited he trips himself. He has 5 teeth now... WAHoo. He is now sleeping from 7:00pm-8:00 and takes 1 two hour nap at 1:00. On Saturday he gave us a gift and slept in til 10:00... and so did mom and dad. He comes up to us and grabs our finger and pulls us to what he wants. He is extremely happy unless you are changing him and then he flips out. He says a few words, but only I really understand what they mean. Thats all I can think of right now. But he is just so cute.

BECs
I'm excited to get into some deep cleaning/organizing. There are so many things I want to do and tomorrow I will make a to-do list... YAY! I got a new work out video, yoga, I'm just excited I don't have to work out with Jillian for awhile. I only have one new years resolution and that is to clean while I go. As my family knows, i'm a tornado. I always clean up at the end of the night, but I have never been able to grasp the pick up while you go thing. Especially when it comes to cooking. So this year i'm going to work on cleaning as I go.

LANDO
He did some good relaxing, but I think he is wanting to get going again. He has already reoragnized his office, hung up the Wolf calendar. Wolf... not WoOlf. He downloaded a sleep app to monitor how he sleeps--he hasn't slept very well since being out here. And he installed his new pull up bar in his office. Even though he is ready to start up tomorrow, I know he is going to miss hanging out with me every minute of the day... because lets be honest, I'm awesome ;)!

MICE
Other then the dead ones we threw away when we got back from AZ. They are gone... or they haven't been seen.... NAHH... They are just gone.

Damond's funeral and memorial were held in AZ last week. We wish we could have been there. Our hearts are still aching for Adriana and her boys. There is a constant feeling you have when something happens like this. You just wish you could do something to help. Most times the only thing you can do is pray. Which is still significant. But in the desire to try to do more i'm directing anyone that reads this blog to my friends blog with a few other small things that could make a huge difference. And to my UTAH peeeps, make sure to read about the everything yard sale. Click Here

And thats a wrap

Families Are Forever

Are hearts are heavy.

On Friday our dear friend Damond Farar passed away. He lived in our complex and was the only other LDS medical student currently attending IUSM. He left behind his angelic wife, Adriana, and their three beautiful boys. They were 4th years ready to continue onto residency. They were everyone's heroes. The best of the best.

Words can't describe how we've been feeling and I know that minds can't imagine how the Farar's are feeling. We are so heart broken for the Farars and we have prayed for them specifically numerous times.

Its times like these that I focus on the things that I truly know. I know that Jesus Christ Atoned for all of us. I know that part of that atonement was suffering for our pains, tragedies, and sorrows. I know that Heavenly Father loves us. I know that families are forever in and through our faithfulness to Jesus Christ. I know prayers are heard and prayers are answered. I know that one day the Farars will be reunited and be more incredible than ever before.

We love you Farar Family.

We had so much fun in Arizona. And I think I took enough pictures to capture almost every moment. Except for the never forgotten moment of singing Brittany Spears "Hit Me Baby One More Time" in unison at midnight.

We were incredibly spoiled and we did love that. Jaxson loves Landons family especially Leah (probably because he is almost her size... :)... We love you Leah). Speaking of Leah, the only other un-captured moment worth mentioning is her finally convincing me to buy my first pair of skinny jeans. And Logan got me to buy 2. What??

Thank you families for all you did for us the last 2 weeks. We wouldn't be able to do what we are doing without your love, prayers, support, and help. We love you all and we already miss you.

See you soon... ish...
