Every Moment Counts

My dad was in an accident yesterday. Everything is okay, but from what I understand the car was demolished and it could have been a lot worse. One of my brothers found out that his really good friend/coworker/boss has a brain tumor. He is 35 years old and has a wife and 3 kids. I feel like we've already seen enough hard things recently. (Sandy Hook and The Farar Family). Just yet another reminder that every moment counts. EVERY moment.

I blog for five reasons:
1) I love it. Journaling is my only consistent hobby
2) I feel like its a way to share the gospel.
3) Its the best way to let our family know and SEE whats going on regularly
4) Its going to be our family scrapbook (I'm not a scrapbooker)
5) I want to remember ....

I want to remember. I've kept a personal journal for all my life. But that journal tends to me more emotional. Filled with thoughts and feelings. I write in there when I want to work something out. I write on here when I want to remember the moments. I say this, because sometimes I get nervous about what I post. I just don't want to offend anyone or make anyone feel bad. Please know that I never have any other intent when posting then the five reasons above. :) I just want to remember as many wonderful moments as possible.

So without further adieu... our week.

Thursday night Landon and I were up til 1:00am talking. Just one of those nights that the conversation was so good that we couldn't stop. We had date night last night. We went for a walk around Manchester and had Moes for dinner. It was a nice calm crisp night. The Hobsons were kind enough to feed us dinner tonight. It was so good and much needed since we weren't sure ourselves what we were going to have! Thank you. Those were our moments together this week.

Lando
Played in four basketball games this week (three church, 1 intramural). Won all four. Even won the championship game in church ball. (Which happened to be against my brothers team. Sorry Johnny :)). He had Young Mens on Thursday which he always loves. Had a test Friday and three more tests this week. Is currently reading Counseling with our Councils and still listening to No Excuses. Busy boy but still has time to cuddle with me at the end of the night. Even if I go to bed before him, he'll still come and cuddle for a few minutes. He's a keeper.

Becs
This week flew by. Lets do a breif recap. Failed my written drivers test. bad. Blah. Our car is no longer from Utah though. Its officially from Indiana. We had the Mcfarlands over to play. Gilmore Girls Night with Dawn (and sweet little Jenna). Played with at the hobsons house. And play group at the Hess's house. Walk on Thursday because it was warm enough with Amber, Tiff and bumped into the Haslams. Once Upon a Time on Friday night while Lando studied. My favorite moment though was Mac Henricksen's baptism. I was brought to tears because I could feel the spirit so strongly. The church is true. I know it.

Jax
Is walking down the stairs frontwards. Awesome. Is starting to scream a lot. Don't know what to do about that. I think he is teething? Still only has 5 teeth. I'd say his favorite thing to do right now is play basketball. Like father like son. Falls all the time (notice goose egg below) We love his guts. And he...yeah... I think he loves ours too ;).

"I Can't Believe I Married You"

This Conversation made me laugh:

Landon: "I could totally watch Raiders of the Lost Arc tonight"
Becca: "What?"
L: "Indiana Jones??"
B: "I've never seen that"
L: (Looks and me, confusedly, and stares) "You've never seen Indiana Jones?"
B: "No???"
L: (Stands up, hands grabbing his hair, shaking his head) "I can't believe I married you"
B: (Sits there in silence... with a small grin ;))
L: (Paces all the way up stairs, then comes back) "Its one of Harrison's Fords BEST works. Just below Starts Wars and right above the Fugitive."
B: (Sit there in silence)
L: (Sits there in disbelief then gets up to go to the kitchen.)
B: "Well... I don't like Star Wars...." (Whoops!)
L: (Immediately pauses, looks at me and says) "This conversation never happened" (Walks up stairs)

We had Indian and Greek food this week. I LOVED both dishes. Landon loved looking forward to mexican night ;). He didn't mind them, they just weren't his favorite.

We had a fun week.

Landon
Other than studying, Landon finally finished The Hunger Game Series (which he started in January). He also started listening to No Excuses! The Power of Self Discipline on his way to school. He loves it. He's doing well (surprise surprise) :). He enjoys school and is doing a good job staying on top of everything. He loves his calling (he teaches the 16-18 year olds). I'm very partial, but I think he is amazing. The best there is!
Speaking of the best, he is currently cooking his famous empanada meat for dinner tomorrow! We typically have them every Fast Sunday, but the Naylors had us over for dinner (THANK YOU. So good!) So we moved it to Monday this month. Mmmm Empanadas.

Jaxson
Jax LOVES sesame street. And it is the only thing that calms him down when he wakes up from naps (he is pretty inconsolable when he wakes up.)  Sesame Street and some snacks will calm him down until he actually wakes up. Like father, like son. HA! I love my boys. I'm so lucky.
Jax is getting better at letting us change him. He understands a lot of what we say. He likes to help put the shoes away and wipe the table. He climbs on everything. Blah. He says, "uh-oh" now and goes "mmmmmm" when he likes what he is eating. Loves high fives. Loves praying. Loves showers! Loves sitting in adult chairs at the table. Knows who Jesus is. Not because we taught him, but because kids know. They just do. The still remember Jesus because they were just with Him. I really believe that. And if it isn't true than I can't explain why he can point to a picture of jesus and say "tttattttt jjjjjesssss" without either of us saying anything.

Becca
January was a month of testing for me. I feel like there are times of tragedy and there are times of testing. To be honest, I know i've never experienced significant tragedy, but this month has been a month of testing. I've experienced what it means to feel so close to God that He is in my every thought, my every action, my every thing. But this month, I feel as though its been harder to feel Him. I know he hasn't withdrawn himself, for God is always there, but I think Satan is working a little bit harder on me. For some unknown reason. Maybe it is just time to become better. Now is the time to not shy away, but to face it and work harder. If I do my testimony with be strengthened and my love for Christ will deepen.

Frankly, Satan won a lot of battles this month though. Every day I didn't really study the scriptures, he won. Every day I didn't pray with sincere heart, he won. Every time where I looked inward instead of outward, he won. Satan won more than i'd even like to admit this month.

This week, I was getting pretty frustrated. I kept trying to find reasons why my house wasn't as clean as it normally is and my motivation wasn't as strong as i'd like it to be. I kept making excuses. Which was Satans brilliant tool. Excuses. After a few tender mercies (Thanks Jenelle & Tiffany), I finally realized that I am being tested (for reasons unknown), that it is okay to be tested, but that I just need to put my shoulder to the wheel and push. Stop making excuses.

God has blessed me and my family with so much. We love him and we know he loves us. February is going to be a month of winning. No excuses. Sorry Satan, you are going to lose.

I do have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know it is true. I believe it brings joy unmatched to any other thing on this earth. I know that if we follow Christ, have faith in Him, get baptized, repent of our mistakes, and follow the gift of the Holy Ghost--given to us through baptism-- and continue to endure, he will bless us and we will one day return to Him.

One of my favorite scriptures is Enos 1:27. I hope to hear these same words from my Savior.
And I soon go to the place of my arest, which is with my Redeemer; for I know that in him I shall brest. And I rejoice in the day when my cmortal shall put on dimmortality, and shall stand before him; then shall I see his face with pleasure, and he will say unto me: Come unto me, ye blessed, there is a place prepared for you in the emansions of my Father. Amen.
For anyone that reads this blog, that is not LDS, email me if you would like to know more about our church at rebeccawoolf3@gmail.com. OR go here. I promise that if you search with a sincere heart and real intent, you will find The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to be the only true church on earth. And you too will know Joy unmatched.

Hope everyone has a good week.

2998 + 2 = ......

Thats right. Landon found one piece in his pocket and Mama Woolf found another one under the kitchen table. Yes Ladies & Gents we've officially completed a 3000 piece puzzle.

We had a good week. Celebrated Tiffany's birthday on Monday, Brad made a homemade ice cream cake and it was awesome. On friday, Jax and I spent all day at the Bunkers. We had a blast! Big house, someone elses leftovers, wii, books. Thanks for letting us come Bunker Family we hope you all the way better Sister Bunker! Last night we hung out with Johnny and Marie. It was a lot of fun. Thanks for the amazing dinner Marie.

LANDO
Me: "Hey Landon what did you do this week?"
Him: "Studied. Young Mens. Played some basketball. Played with Jax...."

Thats all he said. So thats all i'll say.

BECS
I attacked a long dreaded project of deep cleaning all places the mice lived. I still have yet to do the laundry room. But i'm getting closer every day. Went to book club for Bringing Up Bebe and... was the only one who hated it. Oh well. Up next: The Alchemist. I like it so far
Had a crazy allergic reaction to something last night. Finally woke Landon up at 1:00 am with hives from head to toe, burning red hands and feet, swollen eyes and lips and a tightening chest causing breathing problems. It was the craziest thing. Landon gave me a priesthood blessing then ran to the store for some benadryl. He then held my hands for another hour so that I wouldn't itch. Yes it was that bad. We finally fell asleep at 3:00. My eyes were still swollen at church.
Ha. Glad thats over with.

JAX
Is growing up so much. Its crazy. I put him to bed at two other homes this week and he went right to sleep and then when it was time for us to go we picked him up, put him in the car and then put him in his crib. So good.
I think he said Yuck today. Had his 15 month old shots. I don't remember exact measurements but he is 85% in both height and weight and 95% in head size. We threw away his bottle this week. It was time. He cried the next morning for about 10 minutes because he didn't have it, but after that it was over. We can't imagine our life without our little boy Jax.

Here is to a busy week :). The best kinds of weeks :).
