Life

Well it's been 8 weeks since we've started residency. It seems like just yesterday and forever ago at the same time.

Landon
Finished his third week of house staff. One week left. Woot woot! House staff is just internal medicine in the hospital. Long hours, no breaks. He texted me one day at 4:53pm and said "Hey babe, just going to the bathroom for the first time today." Maybe that's too much info... But its there now. He did get to go to the temple Thursday night and took me on a date Saturday night. Take-out Thai food and we watched Friends on our pull out couch. It was fun!! He's ready to be done with house staff. He really doesn't enjoy it!

Becca:
Tiff and her kids came up Tuesday! I had a Releif Society activity Tuesday night and a visiting teaching supervisor meeting Thursday night. Some good things this week. But mostly it was a hard week for me. I'm not sure why, but life just felt harder. We missed Landon more. Our house felt hotter. Our finances felt tighter. My patience felt thinner. A positive attitude felt forced. I felt lonelier. I cried in the car one day after dropping off temple clothes to Landon because I missed him so much. Which made Jax cry too, dang it! So we went home, popped popcorn, opened up starbursts, and watched Big Hero 6 and cuddled. Even though life felt heavy this week, I recognize so many blessings from God! I became an aunt again to little adorable Harper! The relief society activity felt relieving and happy! I didn't get a ticket for talking on the phone. I finished my 27th journal and started my 28th journal that my young women from Indy gave me when we left!! I miss them so much and it was so fun reading the letters they wrote me. Landons pager fell in the sink but we were able to get it working so we didn't have to buy a new one. We had a really fun play date with some friends!! The Olympics. Sacrament meeting was all about temple marriage and families and that just made me refocus and recognize how lucky I really am! So hard week, but I'm grateful to be able to see Gods hand in everything and all my blessings!

Jax:
Watched the Olympics! He loves them!!!!

Ty:
Loves stroller rides, being outside and dogs! I can tell he's going to be my adventurer. He wants to see the world already.

saturday nights!!!

Ty:
His hair is out of control. The most common comment we get in public is "that's what my hair looks like when I wake up." Haha!! I'm probably going to cut it here soon. He is starting to walk run. He can make bear, fish, dog, monkey, and snake sounds. He still doesn't have any words. I'm worried about that but the doctor isn't. And that's probably because he doesn't have to listen to his screamin for things 24/7. He loves being next to Jax. Wherever Jax is Ty goes. He loves to swing. He loves books!

Jax:
Misses his daddy. He doesn't recognize that, but he's been super attached and clinging to me and I know that's because he feels sad about daddy not being around much. He scored two goals in soccer. He got to play with his besties, Kade and Tenley this week. They are seriously like family to us and we had the best time in Lewiston! For PPQ(pizza.pajamas.questions) night (which we did at a park since it was so hot in our house) we asked Jax what he would name his dog if he had one and he said, "cookie! Because I love cookies!" He also thought Doctor dog would be a cool name!

Becca:
I've been inspired by the people here to eat better and help my family do so too! Hopefully that can last. I went to the temple Thursday. I love it there! I got to hang with Tiff on Tuesday and that was just the best. I love the other resident wives (Mahyo, Liz & Jennica!) it's so fun being in the same place as other people. And I have so much to learn from them. Still training for the 1/2. At five in the morning! Finished Heaven is Here, love that book. Such good perspective!!

Lando:
Is currently writing in his journal and ty grabbed his blanket and went up to him to cuddle. So cute. He leaves around 6:00 and gets home just before bed time, in time to read James and the Giant Peach to Jax and ty. It's my favorite part of the day and I always fill so fulfilled in that moment. We are working hard and creating a good life for our kids! Life is good. Landon took me on a another magical date to a cafe and then to beautiful gardens. The first thing I did when we started making money was add a "marriage insurance" to our budget. Which is basically money for babysitting and dates each week. It's my favorite part of this paycheck thing. Thanks for making the big bucks babe;). Working on Saturdays(and sometimes Sundays) is the hardest part of residency so far. But it does make those Saturday nights pretty special!

Happy Sunday!!

Slept With the Spray Bottle

Lando:
Worked about 75 hours this week. He was scheduled to work on three Sunday's this month but he was able to switch with the other intern to work all Saturdays. I was proud of him. Of course he wanted Sunday's off, but Sunday's never seem to be as restful in the same way that Saturday's are. But in a spiritual way they are so needed. He still managed to exercise three times this week. We also went to the temple together on Thursday and sealed a family together and Landon took me on the most magical date last night to one of our new favorite restaurants. He also said that Saturday was the first day where he felt like a doctor. Taking care of patients can do that to you :). Oh and he's currently preparing his talk for church today. He's busy!

Becs:
I've been reading Heaven is Here and I love the perspective it gives me. I took the boys to the lake Friday and Saturday by myself and it felt good to create memories for our boys even if Landon couldn't be there. We did invite friends to come with us Friday, but were solo Saturday. I did a little family history and love being in the temple and date night with Landon. And it's peach pie season. So we made some and took them to our new friends home. Where they graciously fed us an Argentina dinner too. Jax loves their little girls. And we already think the world of them'

Jaxson:
Finished off swim lessons strong by jumping off the diving board and swimming to the ladder by himself. He scored four goals again in soccer. But was scored on for the first time in 6 weeks. It was basically 4vs1. He had a blast at the lake both days. We all did. He's my little helper.

Ty:
Was so sick this week with 104 temperature at some points. I knew he was first sick cause he sat on my lap all during Jaxs swim lessons. But finally after three days of fever he started feeling better and eating again. He did so well at the beach, but did come home with a nasty sore on his leg. He still screams but he's able to point and scream to the things he wants at least.

Our cute house:
The house was 95+ degrees inside at some points this week. It was hot and miserable. So we slept with the spray bottle and every time the fan reached us we would spray water to feel a little cooler. My parents actually had a condo that they ended up no using so we spent Friday night there and it was heavenly and a tender mercy!! This week should be much more manageable. It's only in the 80s all week. Phew!
