The Basics

Lando:
Was on call friday and is on call today. Right now he's in a kidney transplant case, which is a big case for him. On friday he was in cases from the moment he walked into the door for work until 5:30am the next morning. His senior resident was so nice to let him go to sleep for an hour before he needed to head home. Thank goodness for post call days! We picked him up early Saturday morning to go to Jaxson's first basketball game/practice at 8. Landon & my brother and me (technically) are coaching together. After that, we came home and Landon slept. He didn't want to sleep, but by 9:28am he was sprawled out on the floor. So we made him get up and go to bed, we each gave him a kiss and tucked him into bed, shut the door and tried to stay quiet for the next 5 hours. He slept until he needed to go to his home teachee's home and help her. She is an older women who has had every kind of cancer and experienced way too much hardship in her life. She adores Landon. The feeling is mutual, Landon is so cute with her. We picked him up from that and drove straight to our nieces birthday party!!! THREE!!! We love little Hal pal! Then we came back, tucked our kids in bed, and went to The Greatest Showman for our date. I can't help but think of what President Monson's daughter said at his funeral, "Ann, I feel we've done some good today." I think Landon is stretched so thin, and has to choose daily what good he can do. I think he does a pretty phenomenal job. I feel he has done some good today and yesterday and every day for that matter.

He took both Jax and Ty out on a cute, short little shopping date so they could spend their Christmas money. Other than that, the rest of his free time was spent strength training and trail running for his trail race coming up. Oh and he is studying daily for his ITE (in training exam) that is coming up in February. Gosh, he's lazy. :)

Becs:
Speaking of lazy. I've taken at least one nap every single day this week. Golly, this pregnancy is taking all of my energy out of me. Thank goodness for our comfy couch and television. Both are used and enjoyed and appreciated greatly.

I was extremely effected by a tragic story this week. A 4th year medical student was driving to an interview and was killed by a suicidal driver. He left behind his pregnant wife (due this month with baby boy #3) and two adorable little boys. It felt way to close to home. Other than an ever small donation, there really isn't anything else I can do, besides be grateful for my life and circumstances, and adore my husband and boys. So I tried to be ever more present and engaged and loving all week thinking about Lauren and her boys. Life seems so unfair sometimes. Donate here if you can.

I went to the temple this week and President Monson's viewing and I also was able to go visiting teaching. It was a very very successful visiting teaching evening. I have 5 sisters I visit teach and only one of them is active. I also was on-call on Monday for the Utah Domestic Violence Crisis line. Sad stuff on Moday :(.

Exercising. Cooking and eating healthy food. Prayer. Scripture study. Naps. One intentional moment with each boy. Church service. The basics. Thats my life right now. The Basics. Oh an growing a human inside of me... is that basic?? :).

ALSO I"M LOVING THIS WEATHER!!!! Perfect running weather.

Jaxson:
Oh this boy. He was soooooo excited to go to his first basketball game that he woke up at 6:20am on Saturday morning. I wasn't super happy about it. I apologized to him about 63 minutes later when I was more awake and he said, "Thats okay mom, you didn't sleep well." Oh this boy. Its a good thing he's so darn forgiving. He's right though pregnant + landon being gone at night doesn't give me the most restful sleep. But that isn't an excuse either. I'm normally such a morning person. So this week I plan on having 7 happy mornings no matter how hit-by-a-train I feel.

He was sooooo excited to go back to school. He was able to play with his buddy jack for an hour on Saturday. He got an x-wing and R2D2 with the money his nana gave him for Christmas. I still remember when he couldn't say R2D2. A classic woolf video for sure!!!!

Ty ty:
He said the prayer tonight and I was helping him with it. I said "say thank you for my best friend..." and he said, "Thank you for Jaxson." And it made me smile that he just auto corrected that in his head. They can be so darling together.

He does this thing where he asks for something he wants but knows he can't have at the moment:
"Mommy I have snack?.... just kidding *fake laugh*."
"Mommy I sit in Jaxson's car seat?.... just kidding *fake laugh*."
"Mommy I have more gum?... just kidding *fake laugh*"

It makes me laugh so hard every time.

He's started saying the funniest thing to me when i'm discipling him. The other day he dropped his toy in the car. He kept saying "Mommy stop car. Get toy." But he wasn't saying it, he was yelling it over and over again. So I kept repeating "Ty, we are almost home, i'll get it then." Then while we were pulling into our driveway he started screaming. So I parked the car, turned around and said in a stern voice, "Knock it off, that is not acceptable." To which he replied, "I say sorry mom. You stop acting like that." WHAT the? I started laughing so hard so now anytime my stern voice comes out he says, "You stop acting that way mom." Kids always keeping us in line.

I feel i've rolled my eyes because of the actions of this little boy more than I have for the rest of my life combined. His ability to be so toddler like and then so incredibly adorable in just two seconds is astounding to me. "HOW DO YOU SLEEP AT NIGHT?" Catch the reference???

Baby Brother:
Please submit any and all boy names. That would be greatly appreciated. Also, baby is moving like crazy. I'm loving it. Still small enough to do a million tricks and not hurt me every kick. Twenty sixs weeks. WHHHAAAAT?

School lunch!

Smashed potato burger with goat cheese added.

It took me an hour to run up 2.2 miles from Jax's school to the hospital. I maybe walked some. But almost climbed 1,000 feet so I felt good. Ty is the best stroller buddy ever.

Kale Salad & Instant pot Mac & Cheese

The boys were obsessed and ate every bite. They wanted me to text daddy their happy plate.

Soooooo i've been nagging Landon more lately. I'll be honest i've been nagging everyone more lately. I have so many things to work on okay??? Little things like "Your backpack doesn't go there or shut the shower curtain or role the cord to the blow dryer up and put it away. Super unimportant things, I know. He never does that to me. So I planned on working on that this week. I was doing SOOOOOO good. And then late Wednesday night we got into bed and I looked up and saw the above pictures. 5 of the 6 drawers were open. PUSH THE DRAWER ALL THE WAY SHUT FOR PETE SAKE.

Without thinking I said, "LANDON!" and he was basically asleep, because the man can fall asleep faster than I can say his name #jealous #resentment. I stopped myself though and said nothing. But he kept saying "What babe? What becca? Just tell me." So I conceded and pointed at the dresser and said, "5 OPEN DRAWERS babe!!! FIVE!!!!!!" He looked up, then looked at me with a cute face and we both just busted up laughing so hard. Then he fell asleep about 5 seconds later.

I was pretty proud of my last minute make shift lid. We were walking Jax to school and it was raining and ty had to have his chocolate smoothie then we got on the train for the library.

I was also proud of my ONE purchase costco shopping trip.

Weekly great harvest run. We run a mile to great harvest, buy our bread, ty eats a slice, then we run home. Its the best!

I'm LOVING this new granola recipe. I've been playing around with it so much. Less honey, some maple syrup, coconut, pecans, less cinnamon, a little nutmeg, etc. Its a true winner and so easy! And this was my mid morning snack--banana, ground peanuts, and granola.

I don't remember what night this was. But he dropped his backpack on the ground then went straight to the couch. We turned on a show and he was a goner. Such a cute little goner.

Bonneville Shore Trail. LOVE! And SLC has been clear of inversion. ALSO LOVE!

I love Ty's dimple. I think it comes from his Grandpa Woolf.

A family that trains together, stays together??? I don't think that works. But we love the train.

Ty always wakes up from nap and then cuddles on the couch for a minute or two before he asks for a snack.

He loves his avocado toast with radishes.

Hello 2018

OH MY GOODNESS IT WAS SUCH A GREAT WEEK!!!!
Happy new year!!! Our 2017 recap is here

Lando:
He and I set our new years resolutions separately. I only set one each year, Landon normally sets a few. But this year he jumped on the One Goal bandwagon with me. Ironically, we picked basically the same thing. He wants to read the scriptures everyday.

He signed up for a trail half marathon. And got some trail shoes. He's excited. He did his very first trail run on Saturday and I think he fell in love.

He took me on such a happy day. Temple & Vietnamese food. I love him so much. I love our date nights. I love that we can afford a "nanny" for a few hours a week. We love Greta so much!!

Becs:
I loved having jaxson home the last two weeks. Its been the best. No schedules, easy mornings. I also have been reading a lot lately. I have a hard time falling asleep at night, but if I read for 30 minutes, i'm out cold. (Or if I read for 2 minutes in the middle of the day, proof below). I'm sooooo tired all of the time. I say that and every one is like, "well duh". And I get that. I'm pregnant, have two kids all day every day, im older, etc. etc. Still. I mentioned it to my doctor and she gave me some things to do.  Love her.

I'M STILL RUNNING!!!! I ran 4 miles on Saturday and it felt amazing. I wasn't sure if i'd make it this far, but now that I have, I bought myself a belly band and some new running shoes (since my old ones had the miles of 3 half marathons & one marathon + training on them. Just in two years!). I'm hoping I can make it through my pregnancy running. Because I love it so much.

My new years resolution this year is to read the Book of Mormon daily. I plan to ask the question "How did they find joy" every morning when I read. Its been empowering so far. I made this resolution before President Monson passed away, but it feels even more fitting now. My new years resolution last year was to have three intentional moment each day. One with each boy. I wrote them down a lot in my journal. This was such an impactful resolution. And I wasn't perfect at it, but in the end, it will change the way I live my life forever. I can't expect to have every minute of the day be perfect and fulfilling and intentional. But if I can have one small one with each person each day (like really listening or saying "yes" instead of "no" a little more or being patient in a moment that I normally wouldn't or welcoming Landon home with a smile and a kiss, or sending Lando a love/appreciation text etc.), I think it adds up. It was wonderful!!

Also, we taught our new primary class today. So much happiness! They are cute and good and happy and we are excited!!!

Jax:
He loved being home the last two weeks. Lots of cuddling and legos and basketball and chilling and relaxing. SCHOOL DONT START ***crying emoji***. He is a dang good reader. His new years resolution is to read the scriptures every day. He made it after he heard Landons. He's already on chapter 6 of 1 Nephi. I seriously haven't even mentioned his resolution since he made it. He's so driven.

But seriously, I look through pictures of the boys together this week, and home schooling seems so appealing. However, Jax loves school and social life and lets be honest, me.... homeschool??? I just love their bond and friendship!!!

Ty:
Have I ever told you that Ty's favorite favorite favorite food are smoothies? Any smoothie. He drinks them like mad man. He still loves all big construction vehicles. His new year's resolution is to scream less. And that did come from him. He even demonstrated what his new screams would sound like. "Not like this.... [scream]..... but like this...[whisper scream]". I love him. He takes his lego creations to bed at night, the lights are off, and he still figures out how to create. And then he screams when they break.

At the cousin sleepover Ty hid in a really great place and stayed quite and put. He was the last one to be found. Actually his oldest cousin was it and walked into the bathroom and looked around and Ty still hid and wasn't seen. I was impressed. It was adorable, I have it on video.

Baby Boy:
He is measuring on schedule and kicking and playing like crazy inside me.

Us:
For Christmas we gave our nieces and nephews a cousin sleepover. We did both sides of the family this weekend. It was so great. It was a lot of work and we are exhausted. But we loved it and plan to make it a tradition.

Woolf cousin sleepover:
Legos
Dancing
Wrestling
Pizza
Questions (PPQ)
Cars then Kung Fu Panda
Bed (asleep by 7:45 in the same room. #nailedit)
Pancakes
Playing
Moana
Straightening

Edwards cousin sleepover:
Hide & Seek
Build your own pizza
Questions (PPQ)
Little Rascals
Bed (All asleep by 8:45 in the same room)
Cereal and running in the morning

I think this will be such a great tradition. Our kids loved it and we loved the one on one time with each kiddo without the parents around. It was a party.

Our New Years Resolutions:

As a family we plan to pray at the beginning of the week for one person to serve as a family. This week we were able go to the Bishops Store House and get food for another family in our ward.

As a couple Landon and I are going to pray daily together. With his new schedule this year we've gotten out of the habit.

Also, just as a theme this year we are going to follow the example of my brother Gary. Gary is one of my best friends, one of Landon's best friends. He's had ups and downs his whole life and through it all he just laughs. He always laughs. So thats our 2018 saying. "Just laugh".

This was such a great week. Loving life!!!

I'm at the top of page two here. And look fabulous thank you very much!

I make sure to have bathrooms along my running path. This bathroom break was only .6 miles in haha!

Landon's trail run!

Added some padding under our rug! Thanks Nate & Sarah!
