Pretty wild week. I felt honored to be able to serve with so many other members of the ward on Monday. Bob Woods Funeral. Jaxson and his game’s Monday and Wednesday. We packed and went on a ski trip in Utah early early Thursday morning. And we had a good Sunday with church and LANDON coming home and dinner at the Dittos.
Here are the moments:
Lando: He has been busy in Ghana! I know he is exhausted. It just makes me laugh though, that while he was in Ghana, he planned our trip to Italy and reminded us about getting permits for Havasupai. He is always thinking about living life.
Becs:
After our ski trip we ended up at the airport for a couple of hours. We had to kill some time so we walked around and saw all the shops. The boys convinced me to buy them Rockwell Ice Cream. Airport ice cream is expensive. Anywho, we were sitting at an empty gate and the letters DELTA were on the wall really big. I went up there and pretended I was a teacher. I held my phone over the first letter and said “this letter is an M”. To which Luke yelled NO a D!!!
I finished spelling the word out for them “MAQiX”—and read “Maquicks”. In my teacher English accent. All the boys laughed so hard. And it was just a really happy moment. Luke couldn’t give it up, “no mom! It says Delta.” And then pointed at me and said really loudly for everyone to hear “this women doesn’t know how to read.” Ty and Jax buckled over with laughter!! Sometimes, I love being a mom!
Jax: He was able to play in his championship game on Wednesday! He did amazing! 4points, 2 assists, 2 steals, good D. He only played 7 minutes. Which broke his little heart. He cried Wednesday night wondering why he doesn’t play more. But he’s on the right track and he’s getting better. And his drive to the rim was incredible! I text Landon Wednesday night very defeated. It was the first moment that Landon being gone that was hard. It’s hard to carry the emotions of our kiddos alone. I prayed that night grateful that Landon was only gone in Ghana and not gone forever.
Ty:
He said the word “fear” earlier and I couldn’t understand it. It made him really frustrated and embarrassed.
Later I brought it back up and Luke said “fear” no problem.
Tys eyes filled with water.
I had him work on a few words. His speech therapist has him roll his r’s and his words are sounding so… not correct lately. And he said “mom I’ve told you so many times I don’t think the speech is helping Me.”
And then I said “I can see that.”
And then he just started to cry
Then he said “sometimes the speech person leaves the door open and all my friends walk by and see me in there.”
And also, he said “and all the kids cheer so loud when they finally get me out in four square.”
And “I don’t know how to preserve in my class. Our theme is perseverance over perfection, but I know everything we are learning and get 100% on all assignments, so how do I persevere?”
Ty’s a tough one to break. But when he does break, you just love him even more!
Luke:
We dropped off Jax at dribbling and went to take treats to a few sisters in our ward who have birthdays. Luke was SO excited to hold the treat. He just loves being apart of peoples happy moments! We rang three different doorbells and on the third one, they had a security system doorbell to which Luke pressed and then said “ooooo this is a fancy one!” It just made me laugh.
Brigs
Ran up and down the airport moving walkway at least 30 times tonight. That+no nap+10:00pm bedtime made for a really fun flight home. Bless his little body. A lot is expected out of this constantly going woolf fam. We love him so much!
