One Car Family

We sold Carl the Corolla yesterday. I actually didn't even know we named him or when. Either way, we loved Carl. He was the first big purchase we ever made as a married couple. He's been good to us. But it was time to let him go and we are down to a one car again. There is something freeing about that. Landon even said that he kind of felt a weight lifted off his shoulders when we sold it. Its one less thing to worry about. My little minimalism heart was proud of that comment. 

Landon: 

Was so busy this week. Thats a dumb statement because I feel like I could make that statement every week. The boys didn't see him for four straight days/nights. They all missed each other. Landon would write them notes on the nights he didn't see them. I took a picture of a few of them. The notes just made me so happy. Landon is already doing so so so much for us, but these small notes just reminded me how much he truly loves his boys and wants to have special relationships with each of them. Landon was a super hero this weekend. It helped that BYU had a bye week. I took a nap on Saturday while he and Jax played Uno. He watched the boys and officially sold the car while I was gone to the LDS Womens conference on Saturday night. And I know this is so so so small (although it wasn't to me) but this morning he took Ty to the bathroom and it was the first time in a really really long time that I didn't get up early in the morning to ty yelling he needed to go pee. I just smiled through the whole moment.... ahem... oh wait... I was actually asleep and I had no idea Ty had woken up and needed to go to the bathroom :). Haha!  

Our date night was kind of a fail. I met Landon up at the hospital. I got there around 6:00 and waited til after 8:00 in the car. Landon finally came but we had to hurry to pick up the Corolla at the dealership. By that point we were both exhausted so we got burgers and ate them at home then went to bed. They can't all be wonderful, but I bet I remember this date more than the perfect ones anyway. 

Oh and Landon was in charge of FHE this week. He picked top golf.  It was a blast! 

Oh and randomly Landon said to me, "One of the books I read this week...." I stopped him mid sentence and was like, "Wait what? You read a book this week?" "Yeah, three books actually, they were only 70ish pages long though." He has so much world away from me and he does so much in that world. And its moments like that where I realize, gosh! He is working so hard! 

Becca:
WE GOT A RUG FOR OUR FAMILY ROOM!!!! YAY!!!

I tried to take more cute pictures this week. I just want to remember these days so much. Jax is loving school. Landon is loving work. Ty is loving our 2-3 hours outside every single morning. I'm loving that everyone is so happy and content.  I went visiting teaching, I invited a friend, Amber, over to play, I took the boys to The Pie for PPQ night. I was wearing my BYU sweatshirt and it was basically the University of Utah's underground hang out spot. I honestly felt hated until I took my sweatshirt off. I also might have used ty to cover the sweatshirt for most of the time. 

The women's conference was wonderful! Church was great today. We are getting some great routines down with our class. They seem so roudy to me but Landon mentioned that the reason they seem that way is cause there are 10 or less primary kids total. So when one kid is even slight rambunctious its obvious. 

Jaxson: 

Is obsessed with drawing lately and honestly he has improved 100% since he started school. He and I rode bikes during Ty's nap on Friday and it just felt so happy. I love him so much. I am proud of who he is becoming. He is such a good kid. 

Tyler: 

IS THE BEST!!!!!!! He asks "wat dat" 1,000 times a day. And I don't think that is an exaggeration. On our morning walks he points and asks the entire time. The really really REALLY wonderful thing is he has finally started repeating my answers. 

"Wat dat" 

 "thats a cross walk guy." 

"Oh. Cro walc guy" 

Sometimes if the explanation is too long or too hard he will just say "oh." but its this satisfied, understanding "oh". I am also obsessed with how he says "Your welcome". I try to get him to say it as much as possible.  

He's still in love with all heavy machinery. He is still so shy in unknown places but he's as vibrant and personable and energetic as the next kid in places he feels comfortable. 

Ty loved his play date with Hallie this week. And he was so excited to go to Hal's church and play with her for the primary program.

Zero

Landon: 

Was really busy this week. At least it felt that way to me. I love listening to what he does at work. He loves talking about it. He also loves BYU even though they are terrible this year.  He had some really great home teaching visits this week! He had this wonderful conversation with one of the other residents--he was talking about how we made our decision to keep Jax at bennion. The other resident (whose name happens to be Landon too) said, "I was a really really great parent before I had children." I love that. Parenting is hard, and from the looks of it, it only gets harder as the little people become bigger people. 

Little people=little problems

Landon took me on a date. We walked to a "hip" spot close by our apartment and had a delicious dinner. Then we walked home. I was freezing. I don't think my body regulates temperature well. Anyway this is Landon's section, enough about me....

Becca: 

I was sick this week. Lame head cold. It didn't help with my picture taking as you can see. I had ZERO good pictures this week. 

On a different note. I have anxiety in crowds and i'm really particular where I sit in big groups. For example. I have to sit close to the front and on the side in any lecture or church meeting. If I don't, I can't focus. I need to sit in a corner or in a space where I can see most everyone at social events. Last night at dinner, they put us at a table right smack dab in the middle of the restaurant. I literally felt a little panicky. Lets just say as soon as a  side table opened up, Landon asked the waitress if we could move, we moved and he said, "Okay! Are you back yet?" This has always been a thing for me. But i'm starting to finally (#28yearslater) be pretty aware of it. 

I need to meditate more. 

I taught in RS today about Virtue! So many wonderful comments. I think I maybe, maybe talked for 5 minutes total. Then the sisters in the ward just taught me so much! I also had a really really successful primary lesson. Best one yet! Finally I was able to go to the temple on Friday, thanks to Greta. Have we mentioned how much we love her? So do my boys. Its been such a blessing to have her help with the boy a few hours a week. 

Jaxson: 

My favorite things this week were when we were cleaning the church Jax ran up to me crying: 

J: Mom!!! I haven't seen daddy for four nights now, and he told me I can't go clean the bathroom with him. I just want to be with daddy. 

M: Oh Jax!!!! If only you knew how lucky you are. 

There other one was: 

J: Mom guess who my favorite prophet is? 

M: Who?

J: Joseph Smith. I just can't believe all he did. Its unbelievable. All the pain. (shaking head in an almost disbelief like manner). 

M: I agree bud. I agree. 

Ty: 

Is talking sooooo much. You can't understand, but I can, and thats all I care about. He got stung by a bee on his bike ride. He loves to color with crayons. He loves to eat those same crayons. Sometimes he eats them, hides in a corner and starts laughing. I don't think he's more mischievous than Jax,  I am just not as attentive to him as I was to Jax. #poorty. #luckyty. 

Ty loves his Popi and his Aunt Erika. He talked about those two all week. AND when he got in trouble and I stuck him over the sink and washed all the crayons out of his mouth, he then grabbed his blanket, sprawled out on the floor and yelled, "popi nana home! GO! Car! Aunt Erika Home. Go Car!!!"
