These are the days...

 Landon:
This was an exhausting week of work. And then he comes home and is dad and husband. And when he doesn't have a race on the calendar he has a harder time justifying exercising. Work is busy and its stressful. I forget that a lot. He is dealing with peoples lives. And its a lot to then come home and have any left to give. And yet he always finds a way. Also BYU is the worst this year. And BYU games are something he looks forward to. But not this year. He started ripping down our fireplace tile and we learned how to dry wall. For sure the highlight of his week was date night with me(duh!) and Lindi & Nate.

Becs:
I took my friend Katelyn out for a birthday lunch. Running with Kyla. I had a play date with Alyssa & William with Samuel Olsen . The Donkins came over for dinner. I took Ester Harmeyer dinner and had a meeting with the missionaries. I had a girls movie night with the Ditto girls and a few other gals. I gave blood at my friend Lindi's blood drive. I visited a number of sisters in the ward. I planned 5th Sunday 2nd hour. I took Jaxson to four different practices and helped him with a math homework. I took Ty to two different practices and helped him paint pumpkins. I invited Luke's friends over for a playdate and helped out at his preschool halloween party. I wrestled with Brigs and played cars with him. I went to the crazy ski swap to finish getting skis for all of my kids. And I graduated from my Crisis Advocate Training and went to my final interview. Oh and Im still meeting with Paul Ramos a couple times a week to help my back. And I am till not eating dairy, gluten, or added sugar. So yeah.

Jaxson:
He is excited to play so much basketball. His team won the tournament today and I could tell on his face how disappointed he was that he couldn't be there. I hope this was the right choice, getting him on this team. Because every single tournament will have Sunday play and the championship with be Sunday. And he'll miss it. And that will be hard. But if we continue to remind him that this is a vehicle so that he can play in high school, which is where it really matters... hopefully he'll understand. ALSO, just a reminder that while basketball is so important to him. Its okay to have multiple important things? I dont know. I think it will be a tricky four years. But exciting too

Tyler
He has been FAITHFULLY sticking to his training plan. He ran four miles Saturday. It was seriously a core family memory. Landon pushed Ty and on his FOURTH mile, he ran a 7:50 mile. He cried at the end but then felt so dang accomplished. I can NOT get over how gritty Ty is. I'm blown away. He's going to be unstoppable.

Luke:
Speaking of unstoppable. Luke biked along side Ty for four miles. He biked four miles. Up and down little hills. And he was the happiest doing it. He also has the most amazing ability to talk with adults. I take him on visits with me and he is so attentive to the sisters i'm with. He loves to be treated big and feel big. And I keep trying to treat him that way. But sometimes, when he wants to cut a bagel with a steak knife.... I just can't let him yet.

Brigham:
Has become absolutely obsessed with cars. And he happily goes to nursery and hoards all of the cars. He growls and roars all of the time. He can say Banana(nana), Cars (caaa caa), mama, dada, more(mo mo), water (wa-wa), nana, hi, bu bye, uh-oh, please (eeeeesss), thank you (da du). ball (ba ba). He loves his one-on-one time with me in the mornings. I love them too. He is carted around so much and expected to do really difficult things (like sitting in a tight pace on the bleachers at a basketball game) all the time.

Eleven

Jax took 5th in all city. Both the boys started basketball. Luke had a field trip. Ty made a 10k training plan. Fall begun. We introduced the Ditto's to Patty's. Brigs is the star of the show. The kids had their primary program and Luke said, "I make cookies for Jesus".

JAXSON TURNED 11

I can't even tell you the calm it brings me that God sent me Jaxson. He makes my anxious heart settle down with his reliability, consistency and willingness. He is as loyal as they come and maybe doesn't need or want 100 friends, but certainly loves the few he has. He has passion. He has grit. He loves learning. He is dedicated and driven. And he's funny. And he loves to be around us and hang out with us. He skipped school so he could come to Lukes field trip. Then for lunch we all went around and just told him ALL of our favorite things about him. He wanted Taco Bell for dinner (we can't be perfect.) His hair and his humor. His older brotherness. His ridiculous knowledge and love of sports. He always has a ball in hand. Bouncing. Tossing. Dribbling. Twirling. Sometimes I just grab it, open the door and throw it outside. Because its a lot. He reads and thinks and wonders. I love this kid so much. I can't believe he's been with us ELEVEN YEARS. I love him with my whole entire heart.

Slowing Down

This week was so great! Like most weeks we are in love with Spokane and the people in it. Also weather wise, Spokane has been on point.

Probably the moment from this week I won’t forget is when Ty didn’t qualify for All-City. Which crushed him. But then I saw some really amazing things transpire. The first was Tys ability to turn around and then go cheer for his brother to qualify. And the next was once Jax crossed that finish line and knew he qualified he said “Did Ty qualify?” And I said “No”. And Jaxson started to cry. If that is not brotherly love, then I don’t know what is.

Ty has sense been waking up early to run on the treadmill. And I just love these two passionate hard working boys of mine. I couldn’t be prouder of the men they are becoming.

Luke and Brigs have this similar brotherly love. When I wake up I hear Luke trying to teach Brigs words. “Biggy  say Bo Bo Book.” And if I need brigs to eat something I have him watch me feed it to Luke first and then he ALWAYS eats what Luke eats.

Jaxson has his birthday trip this weekend. They went to San Juan Islands. And had a blast together. I stayed home with the littles and worked and binge watched a Korean show, and caught up on lots of things.

Sundays are extremely busy now. And that’s not a bad thing, they are filled with really beautiful connections and Jesus. And I currently have 44 unread text messages on my phone. (I’m sure half of those are in my families judgement free political conversation, but still…. I’m behind.)

Love late start Mondays!!
