38, Ball and Joseph Smith.

Lando turned 38 this week. It’s wild I’m married to a 38 year old. It’s always crazy when you still think you’re young but slow start to realize you’re not.

Jaxson lost by 3 to peperzak. It was an epic game and he played awesome. Great D, awesome O. So fun.

Ty was so excited to buy Lando shoes for his birthday. He spent his own money, which is wild because ty NEVER spends his own money. It shows how much he loves dad.

Luke just sobbed after he lost his basketball game. We are really working on the appropriate response to losing. Bless his passionate heart. It defiantly gives him drive and he says things after a loss like “I need to practice every day this week so I can win next week.”

Brigs is the cutest and funnest pack rat I’ve ever seen. He just hordes and hordes stuff and boxes and trash. Drives me nuts!!

We had the Banks over tonight. They are awesome!

I spent some time this week prepping everyone for our talk on Sunday. We were asked to speak as a family on the first vision. We read about it each night and took notes for three weeks. Everyone’s personalities came through. Jax introduced us and the topic and then share the sweetest thoughts on how God hears our prayers. Brigs got up in my arms and hid his face. His part would have been so darling! Ty shared how he loved that Joseph pondered and one way he pondered the first vision was by drawing it. Landon talked about how he knows Joseph is a prophet because Joseph strengthens his relationships with Jesus. Luke talked about prayer and then he played Joseph Smiths First Prayer on the piano. The top notes. It took a lot of prep to have it all work and the right timing. I just kept seeing the beautiful gift that is motherhood, through all of it. Joseph’s mom must have done soooooo much before Joseph went and prayed. I don’t believe that family handles all of what they did without the influence of parents.

Anyway, what a week!

Miracles

This week felt like a lot of small but significant miracles.

Landon: he had a crazy work weekend. I think of the 48 hours he worked, he worked 41 of them. It’s hard to work those hours, but it’s much less hard when those hours you are working are for cases that actually need to be happening. Lots of little babies needed emergent help and those made the hours meaningful. The biggest miracle was that he got called off of work for Monday!

Becs: I felt really grateful that Landon has a job that can afford me flying out to Utah for a baby shower. I also felt like it was a miracle that I checked back on Amazon and saw that my card didn’t got through. I wanted the weekend to go well and God knew that. Also miracle that Annie gave me a book that changed my life. And I was preparing for my lesson on Sunday and was able to read the entire book WITHOUT falling asleep on the plane. Also see my family was wonderful. And celebrating Gary and Jacqueline and hanging with my nieces!

Jax: Jaxson’s miracle was that able to learn SO much from his close game on Wednesday, play most of the game, make lots of mistakes and still pull through. I also think it’s a giant miracle that we live on a street with his best friends. How did that happen?! And he makes miracles happen often. But holding the fort down for three days while Landon and I were both away. PS he was called as Teachers Quorum President.

Ty: his miracle was working really hard and getting 100% on his spelling test! It’s also miraculous to me how in tune he is with spiritual things! He memorized James 1:5 all on his own and I felt like that was so cool. It’s also a miracle that Tu doesn’t die to and from school in his shorts. What a crazy kid.

Luke: it was a miracle to me that the Eagles won because that’s who Luke wanted and so I didn’t have to experience the pain. Also Ty babysat one night this week and things weren’t going well and the miracle was that Luke stepped in and helped brigs in his anger and settled him down. It was the best!!!

Brigs: it is a miracle every day that he is alive and we don’t kill him!! It is a miracle that he can take a perfectly clean room and destroy it within in seconds. It is a miracle that he can get every human on planet earth to love him and give him Candy. It is a miracle that he functions with so much Candy in his system, it is a miracle that his brothers don’t beat up on him. It is a miracle how calming art is for him and it is the biggest miracle to watch him grow so much in the last few weeks. He is a cute little miracle.

Another miracle was my brother Johnny operating on my dad. And things going so well. So many miracles. Thanks Jesus

Another miracle is having every Edwards girl in the same room!!!
