We had an awesome Christmas and Boxing Day. There is nothing more special than Christmas morning with happy boys. They loved their presents and have used them fervently over the break. Which feels really nice. Jaxson loved his chess board and kindle. Ty loved his Lego and kindle. Luke loved his clothes and kindle. And brigs loved his LEGO and books.
They loved their new rooms. Though we already torn the big boys down. They love their hoops in their rooms. I never ask my kids what they want for Christmas. I just love thinking about what they love and getting it for them. I also don’t like the practice of making a list—as if thats what Christmas is. Make a list get presents. Blah.
We took a gift to 12 older single ladies. And some invited us in. It was lovely. We had dinner with a bunch of other people who don’t have family in town.
The day after Christmas we boxed up so much stuff and got rid of it. I’m constantly in pursuit of doing that. It really was a great week.
And I try to remain grateful for it while feeling the heaviness of Landon’s friends passing on Christmas Day. A tragic swimming accident in Costa Rica left my friend Malerie and her 4 children without a husband and dad. And it’s been gutting to think about. We are fervently praying for Malerie and her children. No one should ever have to go through this. But some do. And all I can do is mourn with those that mourn. And comfort those that stand in need of comfort.
Merry Christmas!!! I’m grateful I have my whole family here on this earth and pray it stays that way.
