Sunny May

Lando:

He had a friend/colleague who was hit by a car today and die. It hit him hard. Life is fragile. A couple of weeks ago one of the PAs committed suicide. His job is stressful and then to add these into the mix, it’s heavy. He worked SO much in the yard this week though. And it looks fabulous. Gosh I love him! He really is amazing and is our families quiet unsung background hero. It’s easy to forget the sacrifice he makes every day.  Because of the out of sight out of mind. But when I’m present and realize all that he does, I feel loved and safe.

Becs:

I loved my silent retreat led led by Annie. And scripture study. Shopping with Hailey. And my 12 mile run. Got my hair cut. I loved my experience at the temple with Jax, Landon and the Martinez family. Baseball games and concerts. But feeling behind in so many things. Landon got me a cross bracelet and I love it!

Jax;

He had a solo on the trumpet in his concert and do great. Flipped over the handle bars on the bike at his young men’s activity. Weeded for five hours today. Is always back mind thinking about the NBA playoffs. Is the cutest little babysitter to his brothers.

Ty:

Has enjoyed a few extra days off from soccer. All of his teachers talk about how much of an example he is to the rest of his team and kids around him. He is loving listening to audio books right now. Gets home from school and curls up in bed and listens. He also weeded outside for about 3.5 hours

Luke:

I prayed at the beginning of the week that I would understand how to love and parent Luke better. It was then that I heard some of the other kids greet him when he got to school “Luke why do you always ride that stupid bike to school.” “Luke go to the back, don’t butt in line.” “Luke is a weirdo.” The spirit whispered, “he’s not feeling loved at school which is why he’s acting out at home.” You better believe Landon and I turned on the love the last few days. And boy he’s been a different kid

Brigs:

Knows all of his colors and loves his card and trucks. He locked himself in the minivan a couple of times this week. Sometimes he just finds his way into the garage and into the van and then presses all the buttons. And boom, you feel like you’ve lost a child, and when you find him, like you’ll never get him out. Luckily he understands AMAZINGLY well…. Even though his speech does not show that.

We are heading to Glacier to see my parents today and driving home tomorrow! But I love my parents and glacier so can’t think of anything better!!  Well, Landon would be able to join.

Tyler is EIGHT

I'm currently texting my sister in law about her baby. Who is pretty fussy. It is sending me back to when Ty was born and was SO fussy. He cried or screamed most of his waking hours for the first 4 months of his life. It was so hard. People tell you, you'll forget. But they've obviously never had a difficult newborn. And people tell you it will go quick. But it doesn't in the moment. And that is really stressful thing to your mind and body for days on end. Ty was so hard as a newborn. But one of the best things about having a difficult newborn is two things:

1) It is no ones fault. So grace just is a constant. Love is easier.
2) When you look back at what you've been through together, the present is all the more sweeter

My screaming difficult exhausting newborn and toddler is now:

A creator
A runner
A reader
A mathematician
A futbol player
An engineer
A leader
 An example
An A+ laugher
A detailed observer
A worker
A goal setter
A friend
A hiker
An adventurer
A GREAT brother
A cute dimpled cheek son
A lover of orange peels and sushi
A builder

And that is just the beginning.

Ty is seriously an extraordinary kid. He just ran 8.3 miles with Landon on his birthday trip. He wanted his birthday party to be a hike with his buddies. He wanted to read Land of Stories on his birthday all day. He wants to constantly be practicing soccer so he can get better.

He is a million good things that make those first few years worth it.

We LOVE you Tyler Logan.

You are the freakin BOMB

A few other higlights:
