This was the email I sent to one of my missionaries:
I don’t know what’s happening to you! But I see you changing. Incremental cause you’re already great. But elevating!
Things that add color to my life:-Fun food. Eating out makes me SOOOO happy. Even though it’s stupid expensive. There is a breakfast burrito at a coffee shop near my house that I need to convince myself not to get every single day.-I’ve recently found a drink that im obsessed with. It’s just SodaWater and a half ounce of coconut flavoring. Put that with 2 little straws and I just love everything during that drinking period.-Watching my kids preform. I LOVE watching Jax play basketball. I LOVE watching Ty play soccer and Luke play ANY sport. I LOVE watching any of the improve in anything. Right now it’s teaching Brigham how to read. It makes me so happy watching him connect llllliiiittttlll. And then excitedly say “LITTLE”. It’s the best. Oh and teaching Brigs to ski or any of my boys. Sooo good.-I LOVE cuddling with Landon at night and watching a show. I know that’s a bit wasteful but I look forward to it every single night and I’m sad when we go to bed too late.-I LOOOVE hosting people for dinner. Sometimes it can be stressful but nothing makes me happier than having a whole bunch of people in my home feeling loved. It’s dumb but it’s the only time I get excited about cooking. And meal time just feels so special to me. So sitting around my big table and just talking is my fave!-I LOVE a pork salad from cafe Rio.-I LOVE scripture study discussion!
-I LOVE our dinners with you guys. So much!!I’ve been thinking about our conversation so much the last two days and I wanted to redeem myself. I don’t find a lot of joy through hobby like things. But I do have things in my life that make me really happy and excited. They are more moments than things. Plus food.
-Jaxson:
Jaxson completed his fourth year with this Impact team. Which is just crazy!! WE both cried afterwards. I am so amazed that he never played Sunday. This last weekend was definitely the hardest weekend not playing Sunday. This was a text I sent to his grandparents after his last game:
Jax had a great three games! He worked hard, he's gotten so good.
His team continues on tomorrow. And he's crying in the backseat. He wants to play so bad but feels that God wants him not to play on Sunday. This will probably be the hardest Sunday not playing.... 8th grade state champ. If they win 2 more, they win state.
So proud of him. My heart is breaking as I hear him try to control his emotions. Such a good kid! Pray for him 🙏
Ty:
He had a science fair project this week and a rollercoaster structure to build and he poured his whole heart into both. I am impressed with his willingness and desire to do his best! I think its a great gift! Ty use to have a really hard time talking to adults, talking to anyone. But he has completely improved in that area. In fact one of my young women sent me this text this week
I just judged Ty and Owen’s science fair project at Moran and they did sooo good!
STOP!! How did Ty do. He was SOOOO nervous

Luke:
Luke took 3rd place in the entire school in Chess. Ty took first, but he is also a 5th grader. Luke took THIRD! I am so proud of him. He is just good at everything he does. And he has so much passion. Its not uncommon to hear wailing at 7:13am in the morning when he's lost a chess match. Always room for improvement! Also the BYU game was a complete disaster this week. Note to self, DO NOT have the missionaries over when a BYU game is going on. Never ever again. Luke is almost getting baptized. And Landon and I have been discussing what to do about it. His parents can't come til June and mine can't come the two weekends after his birthday. So its just weird. We decided we would leave it up to Luke. This is the text I sent Landon after talking with Luke:
So I just gave Luke the options. I said, "Hey bud! You turn 8 on a Saturday and could get baptized that day. But none of your grandparents could make it. Nana can come the weekend after you turn 8, but that is all. Then we'd have to wait til the middle of May because of Dad's work schedule. So the options are
A)Baptized on your birthday
B)Baptized the week after with Nana there
C)Baptized in May with my parents
D)Wait to have all your grandparents there and get baptized in June.
"OH D! I want to wait for all my grandparents to be there"
Brigham:
He is the most sensitive little thing. And he is wild!!!! But I just love him. I think his spirit is always listening. Correction has to be a little bit tender. He takes it hard. We went to this interfaith choir concert in our area. 7 different churches. It was really sweet. Briggy had to go to the bathroom after the first few songs. This is a text I sent Landon while in the bathroom:
Brigham just said just now, randomly:
“Mom I want to say good words.”
“You want to say good words”
“Yes. I want to say good words cuz I don’t want to be mean.”
He is feeling the spirit!
It SNOWED this weekend. And we went to Montana for some skiing and it SNOWED even more there. Pretty magical snow. Fresh air and pine trees and snow.
There was so much snow the ski resorts lost power for two days. And then on Saturday when it finally opened, they had to do a bunch of avalanche bombings. So much snow. And then Brigs and Luke can’t ski when the snow is up to their knees. Go figure. So we left. But it was still great!
We hosted Jaxson’s team for dinner tonight. The final team dinner of this team that we’ve been on for 4 years. Wild!!
And we watched Joseph’s and the Technicolor
Dream Coat. It was weird but man I loved that play.
Also Brigs and Ty have double ear infections!
Ty slept in an igloo.
Luke is the loyalist fan you'll ever know. And his biggest loyalty goes to Jaxson.
