Lukie got BAPTIZED this week. And it was so sweet. My parents flew out and spent the whole week with us. I'll never forget my dads sincerest testimony that he knows its true. And my moms teaching about going on the right path. Luke also sang with me at his baptism. And SOOOO many people came. Which is crazy because the baptism was on a Wednesday. It is just amazing how many people have just accepted us as part of their family since moving here. We are grateful for our Spokane family.
Luke is an incredible little kid. He did some things the days leading up to his baptism that made me really know he is growing up. He had a bump on his forehead the day of his baptism. He actually had it well before that, but you could see it once he got his haircut.
When people asked where his bump came from, his response was "oh a car hit my head".
Then they would say, "a real car or a little car?" And Luke said "a toy car"
"Who hit you in the head with a toy car?"
Luke responded, "Oh well, I don' think i'm going to say."
Obviously it was Brigham and obviously he didn't want to throw him under the bus.
Another thing happened. Because of how crazy our week was and our Baptism day was we decided to just do a family dinner together and not have a bunch of people over. Luke wanted to go to South Hill Grill. At South Hill Grill there are a bunch of TVs on and a baseball game was playing. We were all going around and telling Luke memories of our baptism day, and I could tell it was going to be hard for Luke to not watch the TV. I asked Luke to move so the TV wasn't a distraction. But he assured me that he just wouldn't look at it for the entire time we were talking to him. And he didn't. For 10 minutes he just listened intently. I thought it was so cool that he could control himself like that.
Anyway, I love our Luke. He is such a good kid!!!!
Jaxson:
Broke a 5 minute mile with a 4:57. It was awesome! The only bummer thing was Landon couldn't be there. Jaxson also ran the 400 for the first time and he got 56 seconds. Which I guess may be the school record? It was a really fun day at the track meet. I don't know if I mentioned this, but last week in Jaxson's basketball game he had 11 of his teams first 12 points. Fun! Jaxson loves the new piano and is so excited about all the songs he is going to learn. We were having a conversation with some of his friends about how he tells me everything and how he doesn't think he has ever been mean to me. And I think both of those things are true. And even more impressive than breaking a five minute mile at 14.
Tyler:
He has been hard at work with the tree in our front year. Making it more of a tree house. Putting pully systems in so that instead of climbing down you can just grab the handle and fall down. He is currently working on making a zipline now from one tree to the other. I don't even understand how all of it works. But he figures is all out. I was also so incredibly proud of him for singing a solo in the concert on Wednesday. He is not a singer, meaning he hates it, but Luke was asked to sing a solo and so they asked Ty too. In first grade he wouldn't even go into the classroom. We started walking home because he wouldn't leave my side. Welp, Wednesday he sang a solo school wide. So that was awesome!
Luke:
Other than his baptism, he caught two amazing pop flies in the outfield. And he had some good hits. His solo in the concert was so beautiful, that little boy can sing!!! I am constantly impressed with how king Luke is to his little brother and how forgiving he is. He also invited two of his besties to the baptism and they came and that felt so sweet!
Brigs:
As creative and exhausting as ever. He is so independent and can do so many things on his own. Honestly Brigs is dragged around to all of his brothers things and expected to just be happy about it. He has gotten really good at making friends with other siblings that live his same plight in life. He doesn't get as much of our attention and we havent be able to put him as many things but boy do we love him so much! He is the cutest t-ball player and an awesome little reader and math adder.
Landon:
Had a really busy call week. And in between call he baptized his son and went out with my mom and bought a baby grand piano for the family and surprised us all with it. Definitely a moment to remember. We went to two movies this weekend, Michal Jackson and Sheep Detective. And we went on a walking date! Grateful he had friday and saturday and sunday off this weekend. PHEW!!!
