Welcome Spring

Oh this week. Thank you warmth for coming. Landon is back to working normal and I think things should ramp up as Utah restrictions are easing up and hospitals are allowed to do electives surgeries now. Pros and Cons of him being back to normal life.

We spent so much time outside this week. Including in our yard, which the boys don't seem to mind, but there is just a part of me that feels a little creepy crawly when I'm down there. I do my best to focus on the beautiful parts. The sky. My boys. The warmth...... thats it.

We did a very social distanced lunch with my fam bam. We had to have been 20 feet apart or more. It was really fun. My mom has a cute picture, but I don't want to worry about getting it. She made everyone in the family masks. She is such a busy body. Always working. Its inspiring and exhausting. I'm not quite like that.

On Wednesday Landon came home and kicked me out of the house (in the kindest ways). I went on a long hike and it filled my soul. I could hike forever. Forever!!!!

This weekend we cleaned the house for hours. Jax actually didn't help. He needed a break from life and the world so we let him read in our bed. He is always to flexible and willing that I just felt that I need to give him this break. Ty didn't once complain that Jax wasn't working, which is truly the miracle, and then Ty stepped up and worked so hard with me for 3 full hours. I feel like Ty just knows peoples needs like me, he just knew Jax needed a break and didn't even worry about asking. We watched Cool Runnings during quiet time and then went on a beautiful hike. It was the best Saturday ever!!!

Today we checked another temple off our COVID-19 temple goal. We've done Logan, Oquirrh Mountain, Draper, and Vernal. We've done so many other ones in Utah, but part of us wants to hit all of the temples during the COVID-19 time. The grounds are always empty and it just feels good to be there.

After the temple we went and explored a dried up creek. That we just saw on our drive home. It was wonderful and deserted. You can really see our boys personalities shine through in the woods. Jax continues to throw a rock at specific tree, hoping to hit the tree three times in a row. Nothing will stop him from that goal. Nothing. Ty builds. He finds sticks and branches and loooonnnng heavy wood and builds. And he could build and build for hours. Luke just beams with happiness from the light of the sun. Wanders, explores, finds rocks, shares, throws rocks and repeats. They asked for nothing, they needed nothing, they just lived.

Thank you spring for coming. I can't believe its been 6 full weeks of lockdown.

Life is crazy!

Sometimes you need friends to remind you that the things you are worried about are the things to be worried about.

Best surprise!!!!!

Luke is Two!

I can't believe our baby is two!!!! He turned two this week and we had a great time celebrating him. Balloons and Mickey pancakes, whip cream and fruit for breakfast. Long walks and bikes. Then fruit, chicken, and mac & cheese for lunch. Then when Daddy got home we went to a drive thru baby animal farm. It was adorable. I wish I had known about this farm before COVID. It was hilarious though, we had to wait in the car for over an hour. And we just looked around and saw all the other parents doing the same thing we were. Killing time any way you could. Luke LOVED the animals. Luke loves animals so much. We ended the night with presents. He got a mickey mouse from all of us and then a spinning chair from Mummy and Papa. We put a candle in his strawberry cupcake, but he didn't want it. He just wanted fresh strawberries. Even tonight, I saved him one and he didn't want it. He ate blackberries, while his brothers scarfed down the cupcake.

We love little Luke so so so much! I've said this before, but Luke means "light giving". When I started infertility treatments about 7 years ago, something shifted in me, in my mind. I feel like though my life has been amazing since, I really haven't been the same mentally from doing all the treatments + pregnancy + postpartum + more treatments. BUT during the 9 months of Lukes pregnancy, I was 100% myself and I could not deny it. He gave me that light that I had been missing. He was light giving to me during those 9 months.

And he's been light giving to all of us since. He has the most expressive smile. When anyone walks into a room that he hasn't seen in a while he runs up and hugs them. He loves EVERYONE he sees. He waves and says hi to any stranger that crosses his path. He adores every animal and wants to give them all the kisses. He has a special light about him and he just loves people and wants them to be happy!

Luke loves food, specifically fruit. I'm fairly confident he has had more fruit in his 2 years of life than me, Lando, Jax, or Ty combined! Blackberries are his favorite. It use to be strawberries. He loves chicken and eggs. He loves bread. He just loves food so much. He loves bubble baths. He loves wrestling. He loves chasing his brothers. He growls like an angry sneaky bear would growl if you happened upon it. He sucks his thumb and loves his blankees. He loves balls and can kick and throw them so well. He loves to learn and read books. He recently found Ty's leap frog device and you will often find him in a corner just taping the book and listening. We've been saying lately that he see's the world like Jax and he feels the world like Ty. He doesn't take crap from his brothers and stands up for what he wants. He has so much to teach his brothers and I'm excited to see the little dude be able to wrestle both his big brothers to the ground one day.

Oh my gosh. I just can't express how much I love Luke Gary Woolf. When I think about it, he couldn't have a better namesake. Other than the fact that Gary was one of his first words, there are few people that love and give light like Gary.

I love you Lukers!!!!! We are four lucky peeps to have you in our life!!!

PS:
Lando is back to normal schedule. He worked 6 days this week. When he intubates, it is him and the patient. After the intubation is done, he has to sit in the OR for 14 minutes before anyone else is allowed to come in. Once the surgery is done, everyone leaves but Lando and he extubates the patient. Then he waits 14 more minutes and then everyone else can come back in and finish up. It is just a crazy new world.

PPS:
Landon gave his senior talk on Wednesday and Jax found out about no school on Wednesday so to celebrate and comfort, we got a whole bunch of sushi from our favorite restaurant.

PPPS:
Ty finished Harry Potter tonight. Jax read some to him, Dad read some to him, and on our car drive to the Vernal Temple today we listened to some.

PPPPS:
Luke always reminds us to say prayers and its so adorable!

Jonathan left his on Lando's locker one morning.

Thought I broke my toe. I didn't. But this hurt!

I spy Lando. His senior talk was broadcast over zoom. I hope is residency graduation isn't cancelled, but I just feel like it will be.

He fell asleep like this.... HAHAHA!

TY AS CAMERA MAN:

A 6 mile walks can be hard. The other boys nailed it though.

He didn't even want these!!!
